We stayed at the Old Waverly for two nights. They were a disaster. Unfortunately it put a damper on the entire trip. There is no parking for the hotel, so families who have hired a car need not apply for registration. The nearest parking is 8 blocks away - up an hill, across a park and down a hill -... More

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary at this hotel and were delighted with the whole experience, I understand other reviews about the signs of age but for us this added to the charm of the hotel it is an old building and should be appreciated for that, for us it was one of the factors when choosing . If you want... More

My sister and I stayed for 3 nights last week, recommended for its location by my brother. It was in the perfect spot, close to the station, right next to Jenners with George Street very close too. The hotel is a little worn around the edges, but still really good value for money. The room, although a little small (and... More

A great review and it is wonderful to hear the Old Waverley being so highly praised. I will pass on the superb comments regrding the housekeeping to our Executive Housekeeper, Suzanne, who does a marvellous job and I have no doub she will be thrilled. Thanks again to this guest for taking the time to brighten my day and I... More

Just returned from 2 night weekend break to The Old Waverley Hotel in Edinburgh. Situated just across from the station( approx.,) 200 yards, it is in a perfect position for all to see and do in Edinburgh. Hotel room good size, clean and comfortable, given a front of hotel room overlooking Princes Street and towards Castle. Stairs to 1st floor... More

It was a nightmare finding the hotel, even with satnav, with construction works denying vehicle access. No parking and we had to find exorbitant parking blocks away. Rooms were musty dungeons in the middle of the building with no air and no windows. Booked in for 2 nights. Restaurant was not available till 7.30pm so opted for bar menu in... More

Oh dear...! Although it seems clear that this guest was unhappy before they even arrived at the hotel, I will investigate the claims made regarding poor service as there is never any excuse for this aspect of the operation to fail. There seems to have been some confusion over the food service on what was an incredibly busy night but... More

We found the staff to be welcoming and warm, the breakfasts tasty and served in beautiful surroundings and the rooms were of a good size. Be aware that there is no elevator access to the 1st floor reception although there is a lift from there to the other levels. Would definitely use this hotel again if we return to Edinburgh... More

When I booked this hotel, I had two criteria's. 1. An elevator for my 71 year old mom. It did have an elevator but it started on the 2nd floor, not on the main entry floor. That should have been part of the hotel discription. 2. I want fresh coffee in the morning. This site said they had coffee making... More

I am not sure that this review is entirely serious but just in case: There is nothing misleading on our website - all the photos were taken within the last year! We do have a lift but nowhere do we imply that it starts at ground level. We do offer tea and coffee making facilities - the same excellent standard... More

Stayed here at the end of March 12. Very nice, convenient and friendly place to stay right in the city centre almost directly opposite the railway station. The room was very comfortable with flat screen tv, kettle, tea coffee and biscuits. Our room over looked Princes Street, the road noise wasn't that bad and only audible as we kept our... More

This is a hotel with probably one of the best locations in Edinburgh. We stayed on the 6th floor in a triple room. The room was on the small side but to be honest accept for sleeping there we did not spend any great time there. It had a large spotless bathroom with a nice bottles of shampoo/shower gel provided.... More

Great location for taking the bus in from the airport (3pounds). We booked the triple which had plenty of room and was on the top floor looking out the front of the hotel. Great views of the park and castle. Had dinner at the small pub/bar in the hotel (good food) Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Has luggage storage... More
