From any angle this large home is impressive as were our charming host and hostess Barrie & Olwyn. Everything possible is done to ensure their guests are comfortable, well fed and aware of the wealth of interests in the surrounding area. The history of the house itself is noteworthy The leading staircase is reminiscent of a film set and the... More

We stayed for two weeks, using Duntrune House as a base to travel all over Scotland. The place itself is a wonderful old Scots Baronial style home, which still retains the feel of a home rather than a hotel. The formal rooms are impressive but welcoming, and Barrie and Olwyn go out of their way to make you feel welcome.... More

The house is an early 19th century Laird's mansion with stone floors and a wonderful stone staircase. Although there was nothing over the top about the wonderful hospitality provided, we could have been nowhere but in Scotland. The owners made us feel immediately at home as indeed we did share their home. Our first night we had a wonderful meal... More

We enjoyed a lovely week end at Duntrune House. The house is very close to Dundee as well as other towns such as St Andrews etc. The gardens are beautiful and house itself is full of history and has a lovely cosy feel to it. Bedrooms were very comfortable and warm and every need is catered for, even fluffy bathrobes!... More

The Duntrune House in Dundee, Scotland, is a B&B located about a mile out of Dundee. It has the atmosphere of a small castle, with grand rooms, high ceilings, a grand staircase and a lovely entrance, but it is also warm and cozy. The Graham room is quite large; apparently it was the master suite at one time. All rooms... More

We strongly recommend Duntrune House as a Bed & Breakfast in Scotland. Convenient to the Castle Tour, St. Andrews and Edinburgh. This B&B is a delightful combination of staying in a Scotish manor home, a stay with friends, and a gourmet tour. Dinner is well worth the extra as they bring in a special chef. The rooms are alive with... More

We stayed at Duntrune House for a week. My wife and me had a vast room overlooking the garden with a grand view reaching from Dundee and Braughty Ferry till St. Andrews on clear days. Our son had a smaller room (sharing the same view) which was also quiet ok in size with en suite facilities and all other amenities... More

We were so warmly welcomed by Olwyn and Barrie. They seemed to truly enjoy each guest. They are quite knowledgeable about places to visit, and they helped us plan memorable days. The house is huge and beautiful, if a bit cluttered. The best night was when our hosts made a fire for us in the fireplace. We had dinner one... More

This was our 2nd "tour de B&B" in Scotland. 2 years ago we spend 2 days with Olwyn and Berry, and had such a good time that we had to come back for 2 days more. Olwyn and Berry are really nice hosts in all possible ways. They are the kind of hosts you really want if you are looking... More
