A lovely room in a quiet rural location with excellent bathroom facilities (under floor heating, quality shower and bath) and a very comfortable bed. We brought our two labradors and had the use of the conservatory which, although a touch cold, gave us plenty of space as well as direct access to the garden. The owners were very hospitable and... The B&B itself is really nice, so comfortable and facilities are good although I did think there was an overload of furniture and electric sockets in the family room. The lady owner was lovely and friendly. The only issue I had was the breakfast was swimming in grease. My husband ate it but I couldnt. I would say if youre ok... More

We stayed at Barrasgate House for 2 nights as a family, 2 adults, 2 children. The hosts are very charming people, give good ideas to spend the days in the country. We were in the Cumbria suite. The room was nice and tidy. Very good bathroom facilities - including bath tub and shower. All very clean. Bathroom with window. We... More

We stayed here for the 1st night of our honeymoon, after booking very last minute on the saturday evening the lady was very helpful and advised us to get food before arriving as nearby eateries would probably be shut by our arrival time (9ish). We picked up a takeaway pizza and on arrival after being shown our room settled down... More

We stayed here for one night before our wedding and onward journey to Argyll. Please note its about a mile or two outside of Gretna surrounded by countryside, ideal as we had our daughter and dog with us. The family room we had was clean and spacious with a great power shower. Also flat screen TV and very comfy beds.... More

I cant understand why there has been 1 bad review about this place, let alone a few, its a little family run B&B in scotland, not londons ritz, if you want someone to do everything including breath for you, this really isnt the place, but if you want a warm, friendly welcome. A fantastic nights sleep on the comfy beds,... More

We stayed on route to the Isle of Skye. Lovely garden, shame about the owner's car that was so dirty that it had soil on the roof! There was an unfresh smell that permeated the house and especially our bathroom. However, the bedroom was clean and comfortable, if a little dated. There was a flat screen TV and a nice... More

Found Barrasgate clean and comfortable, the owners (and their dogs) were very friendly. The breakfast was noteworthy for using delicious local ingredients including eggs from their own hen house! Was really impressed by the quality of the rooms, great value for money. I Will be going back on my frequent visits up north. More
