After a long journey we received a friendly welcome from David. The room was very well furnished with a huge en-suite.It was very quiet - just what we wanted.Excellent breakfast with an attentive host. We would recommend Glendaldor to anyone who wants a first class B&B.

We booked to stay at Glenaldor House for one night for a wedding. The house is a sharp right turn onto a gravel road that offers a nice bit of seclusion. On arrival, we received a very friendly (but not too friendly, just the right amount) welcome and were without hesitation given all the necessary info we required. The room... More

Thank you for the great review - glad you liked the little bit of seclusion that keeps us away from the noise of the main Rd but still lets you walk to the train station and town centre in 10 minutes. A good big room, cleanliness and a good hearty breakfast are the 3 main things we aim for so... More

Arriving at Glenaldor House after 5 hours walking around the grounds at Portrack House (well worth a visit on the 1 day a year the grounds are open) and it was wonderful to have a friendly greeting and be taken straight to a comfortable and spacious room. The facilities were excellent, including the best shower screen I have ever used... More

Stopped in Dumfries on way up to Ayr. There was a good choice of B@B in Dumfries so we followed other people's recommendations. We were not disappointed! Very friendly host, large comfortable room, very good breakfast and good value. Will stay again if in the area

We stayed at Glendora House in freezing April, the house was comfortable and warm. Our room was of a high standard with large en suite bathroom. The location is very good for walking into town with plenty of places to eat. David is a helpful host, breakfast was great. Would stay again.

I booked this B&B for a couple of nights in Apr. The B&B was easy to find and in an excellent location. It is a 2 minute walk from the train station and a 5 minute walk from the town centre. There is a big Tesco and outlet park under a mile away and a Morrison's within walking distnace should... More

We stayed one night at Glenaldor House at the beginning of April and had a really lovely time. Our room had very high ceilings, it was beautifully furnished, very comfortable and we had a huge en-suite bathroom. David was a great host, flexible with arrival times and gave us helpful information about things to do in the area. Dumfries town... More

A very well looked after B&B with lovely rooms, close to the town centre, although on a Monday night there was not a lot of choice for eating. I was impressed by the cleanliness and the size of the bathroom. I had porridge for breakfast but was impressed by the size and look of the cooked breakfast that other guests... More
