Good honest pub, clean with good beer & friendly. Comfy bedroom (4 poster) Food is typical pub fare, steak pie, chicken pie, fish & chips, not pretending to be something it's not but good quality. Excellent breakfast. Nice locals. Great area for walking from woodland rambles to 10 hour treks. Super value. More

Despite part of our stay being in the quiet part of the year (January) when the pub part is closed during the week we could not have been made more welcome. It was pretty cold outside but the room was as warm as toast: A good room too - clean, characterful and spacious. The Inn has bags of character: good... More

What a super meal we had in the Cross Keys recently, the pub oozes charm and is warm and welcoming. I stay in Hawick and havent been to the pub for some years but was amazed at the quality of the food in particular. The wild Ettrick salmon we had as a starter was simply superb and probably the best... More

My husband and I came for a visit to Edinburgh and stayed here as a quiet place in the country close to the city. The room was bright and appropriately fashioned. We were surprised to find a flat screen T.V in the room. Everything was freshly cleaned. We slept well with the sound of Ettrick Water babbling in the distance.... More

Cmae to the Corss Keys Inn for an evening meal, having been to this pub in the past was looking forward to a good evening out with lovely food and helpfull staff, The first impression we got as we walked in the door was how quiet it was for a weekend night. After the barmaid had stopped flirting with my... More

What a pleasant surprise! The room - with a 4 poster bed - was light and airy and well appointed. Both the evening meal and the breakfast were very good. Giving the guests a tick list for the breakfast order is a great idea - you get what you want! It was pub quiz night when we stayed there, the... More

This was a one night stop over with my in laws and partner to experience the Borders first hand. Lots of plus points here: the bar itself has a division between diners and drinkers which is a real bonus, there is a separate entrance for residents (so you don't have to walk through the bar to get to your room)... The rooms were large and the beds comfortable. The room beverage items need to be reviewed . The peace and quiet was wonderful. As was the location. The beers on offer in the bar were a little odd to my taste. Elderflower flavoured beers are not my cup of tea. The Guinness was a good fall back though. The food... More

As the Landlord told us, we were not disappointed by the Scottish Breakfast. Very good value for money on all accounts. Would recommend More
