i travelled in Oban with my sister and brother-in-law and enjoyed the wonderful day in Jeremy Inglis. People there are full of hospitality and kindness, and you just feel at home. Rooms are not big but clean and comfortable with books on travelling, history or Wars in each of them. There are plenty of rooms to choose. Kitchen is big and... More

My daughter and I were staying so that she could dance in the Highlands and Islands Festival. It was very handy for the Corran Halls and once we left our car we didn't have to use it until we went home. We had a very friendly welcome and we given a little twin room at the top of the building.... More

I travelled and stayed with Jeremy before the luxury of researching the Internet for cool places to stay. I stayed there in 1999 and to this day it may have been one of my favourite travelling experiences to date. Oban is beautiful. Jeremy welcomes a wonderful assortment of travellers and creates a warm, interesting, welcoming environment to sit and chat... More

I enjoyed a pleasant short stay in December recently. Everything was clean and the staff were very friendly. One of the guys (sorry, I didn't get the name) got his guitar out and treated us to some top class entertainment. When I went to bed, I found that somebody had put a hotwater bottle in it. Lots of tea and... More

We stayed here for two separate nights at either end of a week on Iona. The rooms were clean and basic, with toilets and showers along the corridor. A quirky place - rather a rabbit warren, with groups of rooms behind different coloured doors (ie. if you were behind the purple door, you shared the facilities with other rooms behind... More

My father regularly uses this hostel and not having access to the internet, has asked me to place this review for him. I have used this hostel for many years, without cause for complaint. The owner is a perfect gentleman, and his long serving staff are an added asset. A further bonus is the home-made jam, prepared by Jeremy from... More

The place is a bit funny. Everything is clean, but the room smelled a bit like if it had been closed for a while. It wasn't something annoying though. The owner is very friendly and the house is full of paintings, what makes it quite picturesque and funny. It is located in the centre of the town. This hostel gived... More

My daughter and I arrived in Oban for the night as she was getting the early ferry to Coll the next day. We had booked this hostel ahead of time thinking it was only for one night and we could cope without our usual creature comforts for one night! We rang the bell and were shown to a small room... It is interesting that this reviewer already had negative expectations of her stay before her arrival, as she had stressed that, for one night, she was reluctantly prepared to give up the level of comfort to which she was accustomed . In fact, the reviewer and her daughter were the last guests to arrive, at about 9pm. She had booked... More
