Stayed here for one night last week and had an awful meal upstairs in the "diner" as they call it. Greasy food, average service but the worst thing was the nights (lack of sleep) I had. The room was dark, all brown carpet and dark wallpaper. I was put into a room next to some kind of generator which I... More

I stayed at this hotel but not by choice. I spend 6 nights here on a business trip, and it was probably the worst sleep I've ever had. The bed was quite lumpy and the cleanliness led alot to be desired. The food was bland and tasteless and boring. I don't think this hotel should call itself a hotel. They... More

I stayed here for 2 nights on Bussiness July 11. Firstly the location - right in the middle of town and extreemly well placed for all the shops coffee establishments etc etc. Large car park as well so theres no issues with the car. Receptionist very friendly and attentive. Rooms possibly a bit on the small side but very cosy... More

I stayed here for work for roughly 2 weeks, it doesn't look much from the outside but inside it's very nice and quite big, there are 2 restaurants, one upmarket and a sports bar (which gets quite lively), although both are quite pricey, i had a beef burger which cost roughly 13 pounds, although it was nice! The breakfast which... More

My husband and i stayed here with our son for our friends wedding. It was a very nice hotel with lovely and clean rooms. The only downfall we had was we had booked a family room for 2 nights... apon arrival at 10pm at night we found they had given us a double room. This was fixed quickly and we... More

This hotel should definetly not be on anyone's wish list; the service was sloppy, ineffective and unorganised, and the rooms had a disgusting unidentified slop mark on the beside table (educated guess was gravy!) and can only be described as BASIC. for 85£ we could have had a nice b and b down the road. stay away!!! I suggested the Palace to 2 friends who were coming to visit me for a long weekend, and am overall really glad I did. They were extremely pleased with the quality of the room, and we had dinner in the diner above the bar twice. The staff were brilliant (maybe the receptionist could have looked up, smiled and greeted guests... More

My son had recommended this place for us to stay whilst we were in the area. He had previously stayed there on business. The hotel is centrally located but has two car parks and on street parking is not a problem. The rooms are adequate and quiet although you do hear the floorboard creaking when someone passes your room. Breakfast... More

We really enjoyed our weekend at the Palace Hotel. We were there on a late Valentine's Day celebration, and were in the Bridal Suite which had a huge bathroom (with jacuzzi bath, and 5 jet shower), a nice sitting room with fireplace, and huge TV, and a spacious bedroom with roomy comfortable bed. We had a meal in the bar... More
