We stayed at the Wellington last weekend whilst attending a beautiful wedding down the road. The food was OK, generic pub food. The bar was lovely and had a warm and friendly atmosphere. The room was basic, but OK, with a huge bed and high ceilings. However it was the staff that made it great! They were lovely, couldn't do... More

Popped in this hotel for lunch, very busy with a 30 min wait for food, but well worth the wait. Excellent waiting staff very friendly and polite nothing to much trouble. Food was excellent and well presented will be back

Stayed here whilst attending a concert at the theatre in Brecon. Room was comfortable and clean. All staff were friendly and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. Parking available to decamp cases at front of hotel for 30 mins, and then move to council car 5 mins walk away. Returned from concert to find hotel kitchen was closed, but... More

Yes its old and it creeks but what would expect from an old coaching inn. The food was good, the staff were attentive. Everything was explained to us including the rather early closing time (10pm) The only downside was the car-parking,we stopped for two nights so had to pay 3 times for the car park. If you are willing to... More

I am part of a large party that has stayed here every year on a regular basis. It has previously been an "ok" place - other reviews sum it up pretty well. Nothing fancy, no parking but there is cheap parking nearby. Fairly cheap & cheerful but was always "ok". Something has definitely changed since our last visit: 1) You... More

Stayed for a weekend in February, great service and a nice hotel. It is run by Brains brewery with a good pub downstairs serving food at good price/quality of the sort you would expect from from a pubco type place. We were in the front of the hotel on the 1st floor looking out onto the square, so it was... More

The wellington in the centre of Brecon has had various incarnations and owners over the years. It is currently run by Brains and the whole downstairs has been opened up so it also serves as a drinks and meals venue, but they have retained one room to the side as a more traditional lounge aqnd dining room. Our room was... More

I booked a room for me and my girlfriend by accident here thinking it was a different hotel but we gave it a go. There is no parking for the hotel but there is a car park Behind it at a reasonable price. When we entered it resembled a weatherspoons and our hearts sank and we dreaded what would be... More

The exterior of the old hotel in the centre of Brecon is old and grand. Downstairs was quite warm and welcoming but decor rather tired. Bedrooms were quite dated and are in need of an up grade, but perfectly clean and functionable. Staff were friendly and courteous. Breakfast was excellent and service good. Pity the pub closed around 10pm on... More
