I booked 4 rooms in this delightful inn for family. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We wre all pleased we stayed here. Note that Friday evening is a music evening, which ended at 1am. However this did not disturb us. If required ask for a quiet room. Breakfast traditional Welsh, staff even made up a bacon sandwich for... More

We picked this for proximity to the theatre for an overnight stay, and couldn't have chosen better. A friendly welcome, comfortable well-equipped room, and excellent breakfast - what more could you want.

Venue fifty nine at the kings head has a lovely menu with homemade pies and local produce. Our favourite is the lasagna good food at good prices in a lovely venue. The tables are well spaced and decoration homely and soft. We have been several times and it is always busy, on the high street with car parks near.

Stayed in twin room with a mate as part of a shooting weekend. Very friendly gaffer and shown to room by jolly lady who amusingly told us that there were to be no parties in our room, or takeaways ! As 2 married blokes in our 40s that was pretty funny, been a while rinse had parties in hotel room!... More

Stayed in the hotel on business. My room was really big, very clean and looked great. Staff were very nice. Great location in the centre of Monmouth. The hotel is above a wetherspoons, food isn't great there but I think that's to be expected.

From the moment we stepped into the kings head hotel we found it very friendly and welcoming. The Room was comfortable, the breakfast was the tastiest we've had for a long time. We would recommend this hotel for any one wanting to visit the borough theater as it is next door. Thank you for a pleasant stay

Stayed here while on business.Ideal place to stop.Checked in by the barman, really helpful and efficient.Small room but lovely and clean with tea making as well as toiletries.Compared to Travel Lodge etc miles better.Very good bar service and a good breakfast.Would certainly stay there again but may ask for one of the larger single rooms.

Prebooked a room and it was lovely, I also had someone come down and see me unexpectedly and they helped us with a second room no problem. All the staff were so polite and friendly. The food was amazing value and delicious. The breakfast was great also and they offer a wide range of choices.

We visited Venue 59 while at the Abergavenny food festival, we waited until the restaurant opened so were one of the first groups to be seated. We didn't have starters and waited over an hour for the main meals to be served. Many others who came in after us were served before we were. Just as we were about to... More

Arrived without prebooking. No issues. Very friendly and helpful. No parking but can park on street if you get there at right time of the day or car park within walking distance. Rooms are compact but well presented and clean. Evening meal great as was breakfast. For what it is an oldish pub it is very reasonable.
