We have just stayed here, the house is good and the rooms were really spacious, the bathroom was huge BUT it Flattered to deceive there was nowhere to place a wash bag not a shelf in sight and the water pressure meant little more than a dribble came out of the shower, with all that room and lousy water pressure... Have just enjoyed a lovely stay at this hotel. Owners were lovely and friendly. Staff were very attentiveand not intrusive. Hotel was beautiful and room was fantastic - very spacious, clean and cosy. Breakfast was a continental breakfast which offered plenty of choice and were left feeling full. Despite the hotel being full whilst we were there, we were not... More

We knew that Hedgefield House would be something 'special' as soon as we drove up the long driveway - and we weren't disappointed! We were met at the door by David Wood, the owner, and shown up to a delightful large room with all the facilities that make for a comfortable stay away from home. The view of the garden... More

The welcome was reasonable, but as soon as I entered the room I thought, really, no curtains? Turns out there are some lovely shutters to use, but curtains would be nice. Had to ask for the password for the Internet access - all other B&Bs provide this in the room pack, or offer it as soon as you walk in.... More

We stayed in the Four Poster suite, which was enormouse and very elegant. We had everything we could wish for, a very large bathroom (and large bath) and a roomy dressing room. The grounds were very attractive and home to 2 resident cats and others as well! Handy for public transport in to Newcastle and the Metro Centre. The continental... More

The brochure looks fine, the website looks fine;the building and grounds are lovely. We stayed as a couple and a single for two nights. The single bedroom, upstairs, was fine, although the shower wouldn't work and the ill fitting internal door kept flying open during the night . The double, downstairs, was large,IKEA furnished, but interestingly proportioned.Unfortunately internal glass patio style doors open out onto a steep... More

We loved the Hedgefield House. David and his staff were friendly and accommodating. The facility was clean. The breakfast was filling. The beds were warm and cozy. We didn't explore the grounds too much, but of what we saw, the gardens were lovely. The price was certainly right. We didn't have a car so we depended on public transportation. The... More

An excellent hotel in a quiet spot. Unobtrusive but friendly service. Price very good for the quality of hotel. Very clean and we had a huge room with a separate bathroom which contained an enormous shower with all toiletries we needed. Continental breakfast that contained ham, cheese, yoghurst as well as the usual cereals, fruit, croissants and toast. Could not... More

Lovely location - lovely hotel. Ten minute taxi ride to Newcastle town city roughly £10 in a taxi. Room we were in was no.2 very spacious with a huge en-suite. Breakfast - continental, could of been more choice, maybe grapefruit, porridge etc; but adequate. Very friendly people. Ample parking. We would definitely recommend and definitely stay again.
