We got married at Swynford Hotel on 1 December 2011 and all I can say is that we definately made the right choice on the venue. The events manager was brilliant from start to finish and was so helpful and patient in helping us organise a wedding for 65 guests in just 10 weeks. She regularly kept on top of... More

We went to this hotel for afternoon tea, my wife having booked in advance on the recommendation of a friend. Upon arrival we were greeted by the receptionist, we said we were here for afternoon tea at which point she directed us to the bar seating area saying that someone would be along shortly. We sat in the bar area... More

I booked afternoon tea for my husband's birthday, on November 5th, we arrived in plenty of time and was advised by a receptionist to take a seat on the sofas and someone would be with us. We sat and a barman came to ask if we would like a drink, I replied we would wait for tea. We waited 15... More

Very pleasant overnight stay at this hotel. From the reception to dining room staff all were very helpful. If you are expecting a substantial meal in the restaurant forget it. If want a beautifully presented taste sensation that is what you'll get. Well thought out menu. Room comfortable and very clean. More

Stayed one night for the Groupon deal, afternoon tea and bed and breakfast. We both thought this excellent value. we were well aware of the need of impending refurbishment but this did not distract from or enjoyment. Afternoon tea was great and the breakfast plentifull. Staff we encountered were attentive and genuine. We will lookforward to the changes in 2012.... More

Only stayed the one night on a 'special offer voucher' - the staff are unfriendly and even worse when they know you are not paying top dollar! Service for afternoon tea was slow and we were asked to sit on sofa's not at a table so we both ended up with backache. Decieded not to have supper at the hotel... More

Went to this hotel with Family for an arranged event, very friendly welcome by staff and actors. Had a fantastic fun evening, a set menu had been specifically prepared for the evening, which was well received. Portions were not over sized, but more than suitable for the occasion, given the number of courses spread across the evening to coincide with... More

We went for Sunday Lunch to celebrate both mine and my father’s birthdays and I can honestly say I think it was the worst place ive ever been to. Though set in a nice surroundings service was beyond slow.. I actually had to hunt for the waiter to get another glass of water. Before the meal had actually started the... More

Arrived at the Hotel late afternoon and the staff gave us and our Border Collie - Charlie, a very genuine and warm welcome. We had a shower and then deposited ourselves in the bar in front of a welcoming log fire. The staff were very attentive and we had a couple drinks and ordered our food. The restaurant was traditional... More
