We stayed one night for a regimental dinner. From arrival to leaving staff were very helpful and friendly. Very clean rooms and public areas. Bathroom pristine with plenty of towels.Very pleasant decor in bedroom, plenty of drawers and hanging space. Excellent food at evening dinner, I had perfectly cooked large fillet of salmon, cheese and biscuits plentiful with good choice... More

It's not quite what I expected. Seems very dated in parts. Restaurant is very mediocre. The staff seem friendly but that's about the only real positive. If your looking for a hotel in the area on a budget then it'll do, but hardly inspiring. If I'm back in the area I'd hope to find something better.

I stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending a course in Stafford. I had booked a single room which was really quite small and appeared to be above a generator as there was an audible 'humming' noise in the room, I spoke to reception and was immediately moved into a twin room she could not have been more helpful. The... More

I had not stayed at Tillington Hall for over six years and, alas, a major reason for using this establishment has now gone: the leisure club of pool, gym and spa. So I doubt whether I will go back but... Having got that off my chest, the welcome was warm and efficient. My room was comfortable and spotless, albeit a... More

This hotel does not accept cash payments even if you are willing to leave a large deposit, have the card used to book online and Identification . Would have been nice for them to let me know that before arriving . Then I was informed by what I assume was the manager that no hotel accepts cash nowadays ( must... More

We stayed at Tillington Hall so we could explore Stafford and the surrounding countryside. It is set back on one of the main roads leading into the town, in a pleasantly quiet position, but just a bit too far out to allow exploration of Stafford centre by foot. The hotel has adequate parking but something of a peculiar main entrance.... More

nice location just off junction 14 of the m6. on first appearances the entrance to the hotel is not great, broken window at the old lodge and tired surroundings to the hotel. however as soon as you enter you are faced with a nice interior and friendly staff. the room had an iron and decent bathroom though the person whob... Visited recently as a couple to meet up with friends, as it is rated at 3 star and we usually go 4 star We were a little apprehensive, however the room was quite a surprise, clean and tidy and the bed was superb. The bathroom had a little black mould around the mastic sealing the bath and tiles, but I've... More

Fully functional but seemed to be lacking in something - difficult to put finger on. Staff friendly, but as other reviewers have highlighted the bar is often unattended. This, I must stress, is not down to the staff who are running aorund taking food orders and delivering them but just lack , it seems, of having people in the right... More

This was the second time we have held our regimental reunion dinner here, the standard of the catering has definitely slipped. Breakfast last time was a glorious affair with every item fresh and hot, this time we were not so lucky waiting both mornings for basic items like fried eggs. I realise there were two other parties on at the... More
