We stayed at Middlewick just a few months after eco pioneer Jill Barker had bought it, and had a great time helping, along with other guests, to get the place ship shape. The kids loved picking the runner beans and courgettes for dinner and making the bases for the weekly pizza night around the outside pizza oven. We followed Jill's... More

The cottage was musty and could have been cleaner. The location is great and maybe the larger cottages are better, but the smallest is tired. More

Thank you for your review. Appletree Cottage has now been completely renovated. We hope you get the chance to come back to visit us again to see the improvements we have made to Middlewick in our first year here as new owners. More

Just come back from a lovely break at Middlewick Cottages. Previously I stayed with my family at Cider House Cottage which was lovely and this time at Tor View which is an amazing wooden lodge, beautifully decorated, with its own private garden and direct views of the Tor, I would definately recommend it. My friends stayed in Orchard View which... More

We stayed here for only one night as we live in the South West but my daughter wanted to experience a cottage stay. This was one of the few places we found that allowed short breaks during high season. We stayed in the Cider House, a small two roomed cottage with a living area/kitchen downstairs and a bedroom/bathroom upstairs. The... More

We had a fantastic 4 night stay in Russet Cottage with our 4 month old son. The location was spectacular, overlooked by the Tor, quiet, peaceful, a perfect place to relax. The grounds are well loved and looked after and Jill was always around to guide us to beautiful country walks, such as to the 3000 year old oak trees,... More

I was part of a group from the US that stayed here for a week in early October , 2010 and rented all of the rooms. We all loved our little village, and we cooked all of our meals and ate in the big conference room, where we also had a couple of gatherings each day. The location was walking... More

We had a great visit, staying in Bramley Cottage. The house was lovely and clean, with lots of charm. The location is spectacular. The new owners have done a lot to improve the place. The pool if very nice and the grounds were beautiful. We particularly liked the weekly pizza evenings that the owners organise, using their big outdoor wood... More

We recently took our boys (6 and 8) to stay at Jill Barker's Middlewick Holiday cottages. We stayed in the cosy *Springfield* cottage, which felt like home the minute we got there. The trampoline, and indoor pool were super-popular, as were all of the toys, games and books in the library...The views were STUNNING, and Jill even took us on... More

We stayed in The Cider House, the views were lovely. Being able to book the cottage by the night was perfect for us. We appreciated the guided tour when we first arrived which included the route we could walk into town following the footpath through an old orchard and past some farms. The swimming pool was lovely and warm. We... More

We had a lovely 5 night stay at MapleLeaf Middlewick Cottages during April 2011. We stayed in Bramble Cottage - a one bed cottage - which was well equipped and comfortable. The kitchen had a dining table, stable door and views over the central courtyard. The lounge/sitting room had a large inglenook fireplace with a faux wood-burner (electric) and access... More
