From the outside, the G&P is fantastic, 15th Century charm in lovely Glastonbury. Enter and you wont be disappointed, great bar, tasteful decoration (apart from the plastic babycham deers & tacky mini boxing gloves hanging from the 'time please' bell. The bar staff were profesional and polite, even when over worked. The evening meal was more than decent, I had... More

The george and pilgrims is ideally located in the centre of Glastonbury, very close to the Abbey. The major appeal of the place is its history and the fact that it's nice to stay in a place which is about 800 years old (the building only 600, but the service is older). The room is very nice, the bed not... More

If you believe in the adage, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all, then this review should stop here. The room I stayed in was small - no cat swinging room at all; very hot (even with the window open) and noisy - noise from above - could hear every footstep and everything else, and from... More

My partner and I stayed at the George and Pilgrim in May 2012. We were impressed by, not only the fabulous building, but by the excllent, accomdating nature of Cath and Andy - they could make any hotel feel like home! A credit to the hotel. The George and Pilgrim is a place, we would definately stay at again, next... More

I visit Glastonbury fairly regularly and if I'm making a weekend of it, I always stay at the George and Pilgrims. The hotel management had changed since my last stay but the new managers were very welcoming and helpful, as were all the staff. The hotel was as good as I remember it. The room was very clean and comfortable... More

Stayed in Henry Vlll room over a weekend - noise from street on Saturday night until late but room and atmosphere made up for it, Quirky room - sloping floor so don't put a drink on bedside table! Furniture in room fits in with theme. Nice shower but no bath. T V reception very bad but you don't come here... More

We have just returned from a 2 night stay in the George. Wonderful, is the only word which sums it up. From the barman to the owner - everyone was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was immaculately clean, bed comfortable, bathroom beautiful too. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful. We would have no hesitation in staying here again and... More

We enjoyed our stay at george and pilgrim , the sloping rooms and the names add character to the place which has alot of history. We didnt see the ghost of a monk who suppose to haunt the place. The food very good and the staff was very friendly and polite. We wish the new owners good luck and best... More

Historic 1400s hotel. A former Glastonbury pilgrims' inn. Reputedly, Henry VIII also stayed here when dissolving the nearby Abbey. Very atmospheric. Fresh clean rooms, good in-room TV and powerful shower. Food pretty good too. I'd go back! More
