Ideal location for walking into the town. Pleasant staff, Hannah, the receptionist was delightful and very helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Stayed two nights, on short notice, with a room change on the second night. Staff moved all our luggage to the new room, which was very helpful as there were a number of stairs to get up and down. Unfortunately,... More

My Mum and I have stayed at the Ayrlington on numerous occasions over the last 6 years. We have always found both the owner and all staff extremely friendly and helpful, hence the number of times we have returned. We have stayed in several of the different themed rooms and the hotel itself has a lovely oriental influence. There is... More

I’m not usually one to write reviews for hotels, but my stay at the Ayrlington prompted me to write this to counter some of the cynicism directed upon it on this site. Having been a former student in the city I decided to revisit my old haunts and instead of opting for a run of the mill, sterile, chain hotel... More

Two points to make before I review it properly; 1) this is a B&B not a hotel 2) it is far from 5* more like 3. I fail to understand how this was rated as such. Firstly, the good points.. It is only a short walk into the centre of Bath, the staff at breakfast were very helpful and friendly... More

Great location, easy walking distance to Bath. Parking onsite was a bonus. Very expensive for what it is. Not luxury at all, we stayed in a superior room, not quite sure what the basic rooms are like. Breakfast good but again was more like a B&B. Could do with updating decor wise, I thought victorian room was a theme not... More

2 night stay in Bath, £310 for a "superior" room. Apart from the fact it was a large room, I wouldnt have called it superior - very small wardrobe space, not enough hangers ( we were travelling around so had a large case) and the headboard wasnt even attached to the bed!! It doesnt provide evening meals but it does... More

Very enjoyable; pleasant staff; excellent breakfast choice a little too warm during night - even though no bedroom radiator on! More

The location was good, only a short walk into town, and quiet. Our room overlooked the hotel's lovely garden and we could hear the church bells from town in the evening. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a nice stay. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was very good. If we get back... More

A pretty hotel, obviously old as with the rest of Bath - but could still do with some paint on the outside and newer bathrooms if they really want to be 5 star. Perhaps its a 5 star B&B rather than a 5 star Hotel! It is nice and cosy, breakfast was lovely albeit ends very early. 10 min walk... More

I stayed here for about 3 nights with my partner about 10 years ago. Our room was bright an airy and the staff (including the owner) were helpful & very friendly. On the last afternoon at our stay in the hotel we went back to get ready for an evening out, wining & dining in the city. I was chatting... More
