The staff at the Psalter are so friendly and helpful it is a pleasure to stay there. OK it is not a 5 star luxury hotel but it is clean, comfortable, welcoming and the food is fabulous ! We stayed there for the first time recently because of the Psalter's proximity to a local gig venue and will definitely stay... More

We have stayed here several times, as it has always provided good value. The rooms are very variable in size and quality, with some lovely rooms, and some not so lovely. We had a good one this time. We have always been happy with the breakfast but this time it had gone a long way downhill, with bread sausages (you... More

We chose this hotel for a one night stay because of its proximity to the venue/function we were attending. The room was a bit on the small side but adequate for a one night stay. However, all the lights in the room fused when the bedside light was switched on, which meant a trek back down to the bar again... More

Booked two rooms as was visiting my Grandma with my boyfruend and mom and dad. After waiting several minutes to be shown to our rooms we were told that there had been a mistake and only one room had been booked. The staff resolved this by giving us another room on the top floor that had not been heated, but... More

This pub/hotel is excellent. At £45 a night for a double room, centrally placed within easy reach of the Ecclesall Road, major bus routes and lovely parks, you will not find a nicer place to stay at such a cheap price. The staff are exceptionally welcoming and when we reserved rooms for our French guests, they were all well looked... More

Stayed at this hotel while staying in Sheffield for a funeral! Normally stay in 5* global hotels so I'm re-calibrating for this review. £55 for bed and breakfast. So yes tired rooms, showers basic and general decor poor but the beds were very comfortable, clean and breakfast basic but plentiful. Wouldn't go back as I'd spend more in the future... More

Just had a brilliant weekend at the Psalter in Sheffield! On arrival we checked in at the bar, although the staff were busy we felt very welcomed. There is also a handy car park on the premises away from the road so we felt fine about leaving the car. Our room was absolutely fine, slightly smaller than expected from the... More

We stayed for one night in a room with a four poster bed. The room was small and looked tired, worn, and dated. However I didn’t really have much of an issue with that as it’s not exactly a posh place. There were a few cobwebs on the top of the best which wasn’t nice. Other than that it was... More

I gave this place the benefit of the doubt - and that was a mistake. Yes the bar staff are friendly, and the pub itself is very pleasant. that all changes upstairs. Upstairs is very jaded. We had a twin bedded room which was grubby. Cobwebs in the bedroom and bathroom. Hairs in the sink plughole. Marks on the carpet.... More
