We stayed at Wortley Hall through groupon and had a lovely time. Our room was a tad on the small side and was rather hard to find but that just added to the fun. We arrived on a quite night and there was only a few other people dining so this helped with the relaxed atmosphere. Our starter of soup... More

We booked this hotel because it was rated 4 star and actually looked amazing. It did not deliver. On arrival we were allocated a room up the grand staircase and looked forward to seeing our room hoping it would match the grandure of the stairway. It was in fact tiny, cold, the view of a brick wall with wall paper... More

Although food was ok on the evening the breakfast staff were hopeless, we had to hunt staff for coffee, then this was brought with neither milk or sugar & the buffett was a joke, whilst waiting for various items you had to then scrabble to get something to eat, a couple who came in just before 9.30am waited whilst the... my husband and I held our wedding at wortley hall and may I say how perfect it was. The hotel staff could not do enough for us right from the start. They allowed us to make some small changes to the menu in order to make it more suitable for our needs including provideing a starter that wasn ot even... More

I've been coming regularly to this beautifully restored and maintained former 'stately home' for Sunday lunch 20+ years and the carvery remains excellent. As much as you can eat, virtually! A lovely venue for any social event, conference, wedding, etc. Set in large and attractive grounds/gardens which are open to the public for quiet enjoyment. Good views. Enjoy a glimpse... More

We have just spent a disappointing night at Wortley Hall hotel. It is a shame as we were expecting great things after reading the reviews on this site. When we arrived in our room, it was cool even though the radiator was on full. There was a hole in the plaster on one wall. There was a stain on the... More

We stayed here while attending a wedding party. The hotel is full of history and character and set in beautiful grounds. Even though the hotel is an old building the rooms were modern and had a very good spacious bathroom with a great forceful shower. I would love to return in the summer and see more of the gardens and... More

It was our first time visiting Wortley Hall today and i'm sure it won't be the last. The actual hall is set in beautiful grounds with some amazing walks in the surrounding areas. We had the Sunday carvery which was fantastic, the food was extremely well presented and well cooked. Not the over cooked mush you are sometimes greeted with.... More

I think the garden was lovely and spacious. Excellent for children to play in. The staff were friendly and helpful even when very busy. More

The meal was excellent value for money with large portions and well cooked meat and veg. I believe that the restaurant would benefit from having either a bar close by or waiter service for drinks. At £10.75 each for main meal and a choice of dessert (all of which were also excellent) then we will definately come back here again.... More
