This is a first-rate guest house. It is absolutely beautiful inside, and the breakfast is delicious. Daniela Shirley is a charming hostess, and I will be sure to return to the Lakeside if I am ever in Oxford again.

We stayed 2 nights at this B&B over the Easter weekend. Our room was nicely decorated and very clean. Good quality bedding and towels. Great location: a straight 10 minute walk to the city centre. Parking available too which is very important in Oxford. Not cheap at £95/room but you have to remember that you are in Oxford after all.... More

I spent 3 nights at this B&B and everything was fine, starting from the room which was clean and well equipped. As other reviewers reported, the B&B is on a main street (remember that Oxford is not a big city) which may be a problem in summer with windows opened, but in winter i could barely hear the cars outside.... Lovely accommodation and the host is friendly and helpful. Good choice of breakfast which is served in the sunny breakfast room. Good base to explore Oxford from - only about a 15 minute walk from the city centre. No problems leaving our suitcases to collect later after our check out.

We really enjoyed our stay in a family room with our 2 children. The B&B was very clean and comfortable and not far from the city centre.
