I found this on Laterooms after being badly let down by a company called University Rooms who decided to unconfirm a confirmed reservation at an Oxford college. With hindsight, I'm really glad they did, because this was a fantastic alternative. The "superior double" was a large, bright, newly refurbished double room with king bed on the top floor of a... Rewley House consists of a central building with classroom, and meeting facilites, restaurant, common room, and bar. Most of the bedrooms seem to be in different buildings nearby. Stayed in No 9 for three nights which is one of the terraced houses along from reception and had a basic room that had probably seen better days but was comfortable enough.... More

This is university housing, titled 'University of Oxford Continuing Education Residence Center'. I stayed in block 37, which is on the third floor of a nearby building. The good: decent room, clean, quiet, good location for the price (walking distance to train station, bus stops, city centre). The bad: lift only goes to the stairway landings so you must drag... This is university-owned accommodation rather than a traditional hotel. We had the self-contained flat which was very comfortable and relatively spacious. Breakfasts were excellent also. There is a laundry that can be used by guests. Wifi is limited unless you have an eduroam account. As with almost everywhere in Oxford, there is no parking. More

I was attending a medical course at the Oxford Playhouse and stayed for 3 nights. My room was in a building across and along the road from reception. You need to unlock 3 doors to get into the room, but it's done for safety and it's not really a problem. There is a lift but also some steps to go up.... More

We are frequent travelers to the UK and Europe and are realistic in our accomodation expectations. We also understand fully the concept of "You get what you pay for". In this case, however, I still feel we overpaid for the room we were given. We chose Rewley House because we wanted to experience the university setting and thought it would... More

Rewley House was booked for 9 of us for a stag weekend and it's location, quality and price made it absolutely ideal. We were staying in No.37 which is across the road from No.1 which is where reception is. It's in a great location, walking distance into the centre of Oxford but at the same time, set away in a... I have stayed here three times on business in Oxford. It is part of the University of Oxford (Dept. of Continuing Education). The rooms are not like in your typical hotel room. They are like student dormitory rooms. However, the rooms do have a TV, coffee and tea, and a private bathroom. There is also a landline telephone. The place... More

Rewley House consists of a series of blocks of rooms scattered around Wellington Square, 5 minutes walk from central Oxford. The accommodation is not fancy, but it's perfectly passable. Beds are fine, facilities are reasonable; in my block one could also use a shared kitchen down the hallway. Poor ventilation could be a problem on hot days (rooms in attic... More

Echoing everything that has been said before, this place is absolutely fine for a good value stay in a relatively quiet central Oxford location. Has better than average facilities for a university hall of residence, including large, very warm rooms and bathrooms (all ensuite), plus comfortable (if basic) furnishings and an excellent restaurant for a really well-cooked breakfast. Service is... More
