We stayed for one night while visiting Oxford and on arrival were pleased with the lovely location and warm cozy feel of the pub. The staff were really friendly, food was fine and the pub itself felt very welcoming. Unfortunately the stay was tainted a little by a bathroom with no heating, a toilet which did not flush well and... More

whilst visiting family in the area of oxford over the weekend we stopped off at the Bat & Ball for a bite to eat. Whilst the food was good I felt some tension between certain members of staff, one guy in particular. This made our experience less enjoyable as it created an awkward atmosphere and I wouldn't say the way... More

Recently visited for lunch with Work, had the Christmas Turkey dinner and I couldn't find fault. Very tasty and great quality food, and lots of it too. It was also very reasonably priced. Also the house white is great- definitely recommend a bottle. Lovely atmosphere, especially loved the log fire. It has everything you could want from a country pub... More

Stayed for one night while dinning at le Manoir - which is down the road. On check in the staff we very hospitable, and organised a taxi without question. Most of the rooms are above the bar, so this may be an issue if you intend to go to bed early. The breakfast was excellent, the full English had really... More

My wife and I stayed in The Bat & Ball Inn while attending a conference at Ripon College. Being Americans, we relished the opportunity to take a few days out from a hectic life and experience a small English village and a local pub. We truly enjoyed it. Breakfasts were very good, with good service; evenings in the pub for... More

We met Sophie, the owner, as we arrived and she soon recognised us as the source of a previous negative review. We discussed the details and then were shown to the same room as last time, changes had been made. New bed covers and cushions and a clean and mould free bathroom. We had arranged to meet with friends at... More

Have you ever stayed at a Travelodge? Or a Premier Inn? You won't get much change out of £100 for a soulless room and - if you're lucky - the dubious convenience of a Hungry Horse or a Brewer's Fayre pub nailed onto the car park. Yeuchh! So how on earth can people on this forum find anything to criticise... More

My wife and I stayed fo 1 night in the Grace Room and paid £87.50 through laterooms.com. Overall the reviewof 1 May this year is fairly spot on. Bedroom was fairly small but that is to be expected for a building of this period. I thought the room was very clean however my wife, who has a better eye for... More

Stayed for 1 night after dining at Le Manoir. Lets face it, after going there, anywhere is likely to be abit of a let down but, as our budget wouldnt stretch to overnight accomodation there, my husband booked the Bat and Ball. Its a cute, well stock pub with lots of real ales and a friendly feel. Cuddesdon is a... More

Classic English country pub/inn in a charming village surrounded by beautiful countryside. Our family room was clean, bright and spacious. The pub has lots of cricketing memorabilia and the towel rails in the bathroom were made of old cricket stumps - very cute. Food was very good and the staff were very friendly. Overall, couldn't have been better. More
