Green Gables is slightly out of down town Oxford, but the buses are quick, clean and safe, and stop just outside the B&B. The beds were surprisingly comfortable and we slept very well, even though the walls are quite thin. We found the room to be cleaned nicely. It's a simple, European-style B&B, that works great as an economical choice.... More

We arrived late at night around 10 pm and were warmly greeted by the owners. The room had a TV, desk and wardrobe which was more than enough for our one night stopover. En suite bathroom was clean. The room was lovely and warm unlike some other places we had stayed that week! Breakfast the next morning was fantastic; a... More

I booked online the night before my stay very easily on a booking website. I had a double room for single use. The room was a good size with plenty of storage space. The TV was fairly small but there is too much to do and see in Oxford to stay in the room watching TV! The hotel is very... More

My negative review stems from the fact i missed their breakfast window of 8:30 to 9:30 (not exactly the longest time period in the first place) by 5 minutes. Let me be clear here - it was quite literally 9:35. 'Breakfast is closed' I was told. When I protested, pointing out that i was a customer, I had in fact... More

We stayed in the family room for two nights, if we had another option we would have left after the first night. The room smelt bad, the furnishing were dreadful. The bathroom was very basic, dirty and falling to pieces. The owners were unfriendly and did not appear to be at all concerned about whether or not their guests were... More

My wife and i were taking our adult daughter on a whirlwind tour of her land of birth. Oxford was our first stop and Green Gables our first accommodation. The off street parking was great, the room clean and easily held all three of us and although overlooking the street we found almost no traffic noise. The breakfasts were ample... More

I stayed there 4 times one-week this year (January, April, July and September) whilst reading my Diploma in Financial Strategy at the Said Business School - University of Oxford. Must say that I really enjoyed staying there. The room was always very clean, the breakfast very good but more importantly, the bus stops to and back from the city centre... More

This is an excellent Bed and breakfast for visiting Oxford. You can park your car there and then either catch a bus or a short taxi ride into town. If the weather is fine there is a 20-30minute walk along the river, lovely. The rooms are clean with Comfy bed, crisp linen, fluffy towels and tea and coffee making facilities.... More

Not the warmest welcome although staff at breakfast could not have been friendlier. the room was clean and the bed very comfortable, although the furnishings and ensuite did not shout quality. Weekday breakfast 7.30 - 8.30, which suited us, but may be early for some. On a very good bus route to the city centre. Off street parking was a... More

Stayed here whilst visiting Art in Action nearby. Good directions given, good parking, businesslike but not warm welcome, room old fashioned but spacious and clean. Lovely conservatory available for guests with the day's newspapers provided. Breakfast on first morning what I would expect for a B+B and extra toast and coffee offered. Very handy by bus or walking to Oxford... More
