First stay at Cotswold House, and we weren't disappointed in our 2 night stay. The proprietors were very welcoming and our room was comfortable with lots of storage space. Like wat_r we stayed in the downstairs room but we had no problems with over heating so perhaps this problem has now been resolved. We were offered a large jug of... More

We have previously stayed in this B+B, and have been happy with it. However, this time, we were disappointed. We were in a large, well furnished double room, but it was very hot and stuffy, and we discovered that the thermostats on the radiator had been removed, so that it was not possible to turn them down. The room was... More

I always look forward to a return trip to Oxford and a pleasant stay at Cotswold House. My last trip near the end of 2012 was again a joy; from the pleasant staff, room quality, English breakfast (eating a big breakfast is good for you!) and location with easy transportation to the city center. After living in Europe for 25... More

My husband and I booked the deluxe double room as a special New Years Eve treat as we were travelling from Southend-on-Sea to see Gary Barlow in concert in Oxford (fantastic evening!!). On our arrival we were greeted by a very friendly young man who showed us to our beautiful room -the deluxe room was very tastefully decorated and furnished,... More

I stayed at this very peaceful and friendly place this very week. I was impressed by the quietness and quality of the room and had an excellent breakfast, the kind you'd expect in a 4 or 5 star hotel. Prize for money very good indeed! It's quit a bit away from the city centre but a lot of buses cover... More

This small hotel needs updating very much. Rooms very old fashioned - no clock - paper hankerchieves - something to read - nothing. There was a magazine in the room.......it was a year old!! The prints on the wall must have come from a charity shop. The cups and saucers must be 50 years old. Needs some proper lighting in... More

This is the most expensive b&b we've ever stayed in and we were expecting better. On the plus side is the parking space and being on a bus route into Oxford near to ring road and good restaurants. On the down side, the atmosphere was cold only being enlivened on our second morning by a friendly waitress. The room is... More

I rank this B&B as the one with the coldest atmosphere of the ten places at which I stayed during my visit in England. It wasn't that people were unfriendly exactly; it was just that they were rarely seen and, after a three night stay, I was none the wiser as to who owned this establishment. Upon my arrival a... The upside - nice area with good restaurants nearby, car park, good breakfast cooked to order. Close to Lady Margaret Hall. However, does not justify 4 stars. No air con, tiny rooms, thin walls, very noisy all directions, bathroom needed updating, no shampoo or conditioner.

Bedroom has all the amenities and the breakfast was good with attentive service but the decor is from the 80's; everything is brown with fabric flowers. Does the job but not a destination in its own right and therefore expensive.
