Holidaying in the Cotswolds and having heard a lot about this pub/restaurant after seeing Emily Watkins on the Great British menu, we decided to give it a try. We felt a certain amount of trepidation after reading some of the rather mixed reviews, but in the event we were well rewarded by our decision. We decided to go for the... More

We were staying in the village and ate there on two consecutive nights. This is not a place to go if you are actually hungry. The food is pimped up and priced up and totally unremarkable. On our second night we both chose skirt of beef steak. It was (a) cold (b) utterly tasteless and (c) £19 a portion. The... More

Had a girlie shopping weekend and stayed overnight at the Kingham Plough on 11th May 2013. Evening meal was superb, staff attentive and helpful. Room was a little on the cosy side and the shower could do with an update but the price was appropriate. Restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and courses were served at just the right time. Visited... Had a two night stay with some friends I hadn't seen for two years and was really looking forward to. The meal on Friday evening was really good and tasty as was the breakfast the following morning, it is just a shame that nearly everything else let it down. No welcome when we arrived. Then we were told that the... More

Just returned from an overnight stay and we're already planning a return visit. The welcome was warm, the room charming and the food was lush! The elderflower martini is a must!! Thanks to the Kingham Plough team for a lovely stay. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

We had an enjoyable lunch at the Plough. Great service and delicious and well presented food. Staff brilliant in answering questions on the dishes. Love to go back if it were closer, but I hope that we find an excuse to pop in sometime soon. Only issue is that paintwork in the restaurant is a little tired and scruffy.

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Kingham Plough and we had the most fantastic time. Despite the awful weather, at least 10cms of snow, the welcome was very warm from the lovely staff. Our room was warm clean and comfortable. The food was absolutely amazing! From the delicious homemade breakfast to the perfectly cooked steak... More

We chose the Kingham Plough at random to meet friends on New Year's Day evening as it was the only place in the area serving food. Never having visited before we were pleasantly surprised to find a very nice pub with friendly staff and good quality food, even though they were only serving bar snacks. The choice was fair, though... More

A group of us went to the Kingham Plough for New Years Eve lunch where the available menu was bar snacks. This would have been OK if not for a number of the items not being available. After waiting 40 mins for literally a ploughmas a couple of home made sausage rolls and a couple of Welsh rarebits. We found... More

We have just returned from a Saturday night stay with two other couples, who joined us at our recommendation, because we have previously (3-5 years ago) had excellent meals here. But the food this time was a big disappointment, so much so that we felt the need to apologise to our friends. Three of us had a starter described on... More
