We arrived approx 8pm and was warmly welcomed by Stewart behind the bar. He took us to our rooms and reserved a table for us for an evening meal. The rooms did appear slightly dark, but that was because the pub is over 500 years old and has smaller windows. We had room 5 which was a 4 poster bed... More

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for just 1 night as we had a day planned nearby. The pub itself is full of character, low ceilings, wonky floors, beams and spiral staircases. It is just what you would expect from an old country pub, rooms arent huge but plenty big enough with a little en-suite (however if you are tall... More

My husband and I stayed at the Falkland Arms overnight on 2nd May before attending an event at the Great Tew Estate the next day. Having travelled down from the North West, upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly man who showed us to our room (Room 5), which had an antique king-size four-poster and everything you would expect... Such a beautiful rustic location, it would be perfect if it had food to match. Sadly the menu would be more at place in weatherspoons than this charming little village pub. Cheap, poor quality, frozen and over priced!!! I ate here about 2 years ago and had am amazing meal, this weekend well below average. If you are in the... More

Stopped by a brew at the end of lunch time. The place was full. The beer was good. We four Americans had a great conversation with three Brits, two of whom were up from London to spend the weekend with a friend. The ambience and the external visuals are great.

Have just revisted after living in UK nearly 20years ago & spending a lot of time at this pub. Nothing has changed. Apart from flushing toilets & a tv, I have the feeling not a lot has changed in 500years!!! This is what we love about it, what a gorgeous village, wonderful pub, busy, good beer, snuff.& clay pipes. We... More

Going back sometimes to the same place is like hugging your damp dog after a walk in the rain - you know you do it because you love it & it just feels right... We love the FA because...well just because....it's the FA. Had room 4 this time - lovely but above the bar so a bit noisy but no... More

A group of us, all of fairly advanced years, had planned to walk for a few miles round Great and Little|Tew to work up an appetite for lunch. Typical Bank Holiday weather meant the walk didn't happen but fortunately the appetites were still good enough! All the staff were very friendly and helpful, despite the expected busyness, and the food was... More

I first visited the Falkland Arms in July 1990 and what a revelation it was too. This fabulous historic Inn sits in an out of the way corner of Oxfordshire in a way that I did not think possible in this day and age. No main road, no street lights and lovely walks through rolling countryside with picture book cottages.... More
