Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely peaceful farmhouse B&B close to Hexham and Hadrian’s Wall. Elizabeth is a very experienced and friendly host, serving excellent breakfasts, and the rooms are spacious, comfortable and very quiet. Slaley has a well-run community pub providing good food, excellent beer and welcoming atmosphere.

We weren't here long- just the one night while we visited friends in nearby Hexham as part of a longer trip. I wish it had been longer. Judging by the adjacent camping facility, it is obviously popular with ramblers and hikers, and I would have loved to have walked a few miles. It is located in a beautiful quiet corner of the country, in an old farmhouse. Our room was well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was more than adequate. I can recommend it.

I night booked at the campsite next to the farm buildings & B&B - small but very pleasant and wonderfully peaceful. The local countryside views superb. A warm welcome and the small facilities in the buildings for the campers fine. If you like peace & quiet camping, certainly recommended.

Lovely 2-night stay at Rye Hill Farm. Shortly after arrival, my two children were invited to help bottle-feeding the lambs, which was a lovely unexpected treat and made their day. The room was spacious and spotless, beautiful views and comfy beds, and a bonus to be able to get Netflix on the TV after a long day's adventuring. Perfect base for exploring Slaley, Hexham and Corbridge. We visited the Roman ruins on the recommendation of our host and were not disappointed. Breakfast was delicious. Hopefully we'll be back :-)

What a place. Firstly we must thank Elizabeth for accepting the buy a gift voucher our daughter kindly bought me for my birthday. We stayed 3 nights and would have happily stayed 3 months!!! Elizabeth is a wonderful host, very knowledgeable and amusing. We felt instantly welcome. Our room was spacious and had wonderful views. Breakfast was outstanding and although we don’t eat the typical full English there was the most delicious yogurts and fruit from the garden. The brown bread still warm from the oven is the best I’ve ever tasted with home made marmalade. Thank you Elizabeth.
