Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A lovely stay! Due to a botched house move Ive been staying here for nearly a month, the accommodation is brilliant, comfy, modern & quiet. When i first arrived I was concerned about the train tracks, i barely hear them! The staff are friendly, welcoming & cant do enough to help you, really enjoying my stay here & wish the new management all the best, things are definitely going the rightway so far

I visited here today for lunch and chose fish and chips with mushy peas and tartar sauce. The fish was about two thirds the size it should have been with greasy unpleasant batter, the chips just standard oven chips, watery mushy peas and no tartar sauce. All of this for nearly £15. Over priced and poor quality, more effort needs to be by made to build loyal local customers especially on a Monday.

We had a lovely homemade dinner one evening here. The food was tasty and well presented. Comfort eating at it's best with the addition of a roaring fire. Definitely recommend. The staff were helpful and friendly. It clearly looked like somewhere where locals ate which is always a good sign.

Food excellent. Service exceptionally slow even for allowing for fresh cooking. Customer care skills poor at best resulting in medium rating. New decor attractive and soft furnishings a great improvement. There didn't appear to be anyone in charge hence the TripAdvisor posting. Improve customer care and service times and its there.

We stayed at Boatside for 2 nights in The Quilters room. The room was immaculate, as well as the bathroom. The bed was a very comfortable King. We ate dinner and breakfast here. The food was excellent, our server friendly. The bar staff was super helpful and answered way too many questions, but always a smile. I believe his name was John. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Such a welcoming place. You are always made to feel welcome and wanted! Good menu choices and food is prepared fresh and is excellent. Couldn’t fault this place. Prices have gone up in line with other restaurants but still good value for money

We had lunch there. The food was good but one or two items we chose were off the menu. Why did they not tell us when they handed out the menu? The restaurant was a bit draughty. Good parking facilities.
