stayed across the road at the Travelodge. Ate 1st night at 'spoons then found this little gem. Food outstanding, staff friendly, service good, and atmosphere 2nd to none. Then mixed with the well kept real ale...a wonderful place to spend an evening.

Stayed 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.The room was warm clean and cosy.The food was excellent with a good choice menu.The staff were very friendly and helpful.We will deffinately go again.Make sure you are hungry when you have a meal there because the servings are huge.

Visited Pub today with my wife it's freezing in York and many local pubs advertised open fires......This was the only one who had their fires on ....all three of them....brilliant......Friendly staff.......Really good food.....Large portions all reasonably priced....would recommend and visit again.....Cheers
