We had an overnight stay in York at Barbican House to see Brit Floyd at the Barbican - couldn't be more convenient. Lovely room, delicious breakfast & great hospitality from Ann & Adrian.

A classic, well run very welcoming B&B. Rooms comfortable with everything you expect (plus sherry). Good range of options for breakfast including the full English. Within easy walk of York city centre and a couple of nice pubs. The owners recommended an Italian Restaurant - Toto - a short walk away which discount meals if you are staying at the... More

Took my Mum here recently as a surprise for her 70th birthday and had booked Room 8 the annexe just a few yards away. It was wonderful and just like our own little apartment with living area, bedroom and bathroom. Amazingly clean and spotless, luxurious bedding and matresses that made for a super sleep, homely touches such as chocolate bars... More

Well located just outside the city walls the Barbican is a modest but well run bed and breakfast with helpful owners keen to advise how best to experience this great city. Clean and well-furnished rooms, a good clientel, and excellent breakfasts guaranteed to start the day in the right frame of mind. Limited but sufficient car parking at the hotel.... More

Wow how fab was our stay....We were in York to see The Sounds of the 60's at The Barbican. We arrived early in the day and were able to leave our car whilst we headed into York, only a short 10 minute walk away....The Barbican is only a couple of minutes walk away therefore Barbican House is in an ideal... Just had a lovely break at the Barbican, Adrian and Ann were very welcoming and helpful during our stay, told us places to eat and places of interest. Would definitely stay here again. We were the Annex room 8 which had plenty of home comforts even to plenty tea, coffee and also sherry, these were real nice touches. Thanks again... More

My friend and I stayed here overnight whilst visiting York to see The Waterboys in concert at The Barbican. We certainly chose well, as this comfortable and homely B & B is just 5 minutes walk around the corner from the venue. The standard of accommodation at Barbican House is exceptional. A lot of attention to detail has been paid... More
