This is the best B&B I have stayed in anywhere, ever. The four poster bed in delectable draperies, the dvd player / tv (with a large library of dvds downstairs to choose from, great in the middle of a long vacation), huge bathroom with a modern tub that is designed specifically for taking a long bath, with a shelf along... Thankyou for your lovely review of Arnot House and I am so glad you enjoyed your stay with us....your photos of the Rievaulx room are wonderful and I shall be showing our little cat - Milly, her beautiful portrait. We made a few changes earlier this year to the Rievaulx room so it has a new clawfoot bath which is... More

My wife and I spent two nights in Arnot House while on a month-long visit to the UK. We stayed in the room with a four poster bed on the top floor of the house. We were quite pleased with our experience there. The room was comfortable and had everything one expects at a high-quality B&B plus more. In addition... More

Arnot House was recommened by Rick Steves. Delightful B & B within easy walking distance of the city center. Kim was very helpful in answering all our questions. Had a lovely room and large bathroom. Our car was parked on the street the entire stay.

Found Arnot House web site and noted the phone number. Rang when we were an hour or so from York and booked for three nights. We were given directions and arrived to find the owner planting lovely little pansies in the window boxes. We were given a parking permit and the car didn't move for the whole of our stay.... More

We chose the b & b because it looked interesting and original. It is well located just outside the city walls. The bedroom had everything we needed and the bathroom was spacious, however the room was not warm enough for us to comfortably have a shower and get changed. Despite using all of the blankets available, we still had a... More

I am very sorry that you did not fully enjoy your stay at Arnot House. We do not have the heating on throughout the night - it comes on at 6.30am and is on until late at night but all radiators have thermostatic valves on them so guests can turn them up or down as they wish. Your bathroom was... More

Our room was really comfortable and the welcome was warm - it was nice to be able to borrow DVDs to watch in the room. Kim was so very knowledgeable about York and the surrounding area and took plenty of time to give us all the information we needed. Breakfast was good - generous portions and they made an effort... We stayed 2 nights at this lovely English home run by Ms. Robbins and her mother. We were treated more like family than customers. Our room was immaculate, and while a bit on the smaller side, it contained everything we could want, including a tray with sherry and two glasses. The king sized bed was very comfortable! The bathroom was... More

We were recommended to this B&B as being the best and nearest to the magnificent centre of York. We can honestly say how true that was, from the warm welcome when we arrived to the regrettable farewell 3 days later! Everything that anyone could possibly need was provided, even a decanter of sherry and delicious biscuits(if Kim and her mother offered an... More

Kim is the best hostess, and makes wonderful coffee! We enjoyed our stay, especially meeting Millie the cat! The B & B is impeccably clean and quite quiet. We had a lovely room on the first floor with en suite bathroom. I would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone visiting York!

My husband and I stayed at this B&B for three nights in June 2012. We had a great stay and enjoyed visiting with Kim and the other guests. Kim and her mum were very friendly. Offering good advice about where to eat, things to do and sharing some of York's history. Our room was lovely. Very comfortable and quiet with... More
