I stay here quite often and am generally very satisfied. Staff are friendly and efficient. Rooms comfortable and breakfast very good. One minor bugbear I would have would be the absence of free internet which in this day and age feels a tad annoying. This would be the perfect place to stay if attending the racing. More

Spent 5 nights here. Breakfast was excellent..pancakes, waffles and porridge to order. Full english breakfast was a buffet style. Large room, traditionally decorated (or old fashioned, depending upon your perspective) with comfortable bed and great view of the race course. Although the breakfast was good, the evening meal was mediocre and the hotel is getting a bit tired. So, all in all, probably better than "average" but not "very good." More

Stayed for 2 nights on our first visit to York, Bed was extremely comfortable although the en-suite bathroom was a bit small. Breakfast was excellent (long time since I've had bacon this good!). Had a nice stay the pool was lovely and staff were fine. Breakfast was lovely we ate in York the first night at the Waterfront which was great. The second night was near the Hotel at the Fox and Roman which was great value for money and lovely. More

The hotel itself is very nice with beautiful views over the race course, especially if you happen to be in one of the penthouses.
