We were originally booked into Best Western but as they were closed we were rebooked into the Baltimore. The hotel is currently changing ownership, and our bedroom was in need of some modernisation. However, room 122 was a very good size with a liltle writing bureau - useful for applying makeup, and a modern and spotless bathroom. It faces the... More

It does the job - clean, safe bed for the night. But the room was very dated and low-lit. It's the negative stereotype of a hotel room. Breakfast was good - standard English fry-up. More

I stayed here one night only for business. I arrived late (about 22.30) but was told that it was still possible to get food from the bar which was great. The rate was incredibly reasonable so I didn't expect much although I was hoping for one of the refurbished rooms. I was not that lucky and got a rather small... More

Overall a comfortable nights stay whilst away on business. To be fair, the Baltimore doesn't pretend to be anything more than mid range and people should remember this when booking and staying there. Yes, the rooms are small; so small in fact that the hotel description should really read en suite bedroom rather than en suite bathroom! Yes, the decor... More

Stayed a night here following my husband's transfer to the James Cook hospital following a heart attack. Despite ringing ahead to check access, I was horrified to find that a) there were 4 or 5 steps to get into the hotel, or b) go round the back & up an extremely steep wooden ramp which my powered wheelchair struggled with,... The Baltimore Hotel is a business hotel during the week but on a weekend it turns into a luxury romantic haven, or at least the restaurant does. On a friday and saturday night they have a menu that is so supreme, i have been going back at least once a month for the last 8yrs. The menu consist of a... More

The staff at this hotel were amongst the friendliest people I've ever met and they were willing to bend over backwards to accommodate our requirements. We ate in the hotel restaurant, the dinning area was clean and the food was good and excellent value for money. The rooms, whilst small were clean, functional and nicely decorated. The hotel itself is... More

The Baltimore was certainly fine for a one night stay. Yes, parts are rather dated but the bedroom and ensuite were roomy enough and clean although the desk was a bit small. Staff very pleasant and the food was good - the cooked breakfast was excellent . It is a good 15 minute walk from the centre and is in... More

Similar review to lots of others really. It's a really small room with no view. The en suite facilities are poor and the decor should have been updated in 1970. The floor looks dirty and the duvet has no cover, I can't imagine what sort of hygiene issues that causes. If you're coming to stay here, bring a sleeping bag.... More
