We were on day 5 of a 570 mile trip north, and were stunned by the fabulous views in the North Yorkshire moors. It was a great relief to get off the saddle and be so warmly welcomed by Judy and Stuart who run a lovely B&B and didn't flinch at the dirty bikes and cyclists who presented themselves! A... More

For Coast-to-Coast walkers, the area around Clay Bank Top is a bit troublesome because there is no accommodation in the immediate vicinity of the footpath. West Cote B&B is about 3.5 miles from the intersection with the B1257 road, a mile up the road from the Buck Inn in Chop Gate. Stuart and Judy were extremely accommodating and offered to... More

Many thanks for your kind review. I know the walk is can be a trial. Although a B road it is a fast and busy one and I would not recommend it to anyone but I understand your urge to be a purist. For those who want a pick up and don't have a mobile what we do is get... More

I have stayed with Judy and Stuart three times while walking the Coast to Coast walk and the Cleveland Way. Each time they have picked me up from the end of my walk and delivered me back the next day. Each time they have driven me to the local pub for food and brought me back later. Each time they... More

Thank you Michael for a really good review but I need to correct you on one very small point - I think you'll find it was homemade rhubarb and ginger jam. That ginger makes all the difference! I hope we'll see you again next year but if you feel the need to try a new walk we understand completely. More

Walking the coast to coast in May we were met at Clay Bank Top having made arrangements by mobile after reaching the summit above Wain stones. The drive down to Chop Gate took only a few minutes. The house is spotless and there are two friendly dogs and several lovely horses. The B&B is next to a working farm with... More

Thank you so much for your supportive review. Judy is very proud of her cheese board and is sorry she could not tempt you away from the full English though was touched by your description of her breakfast. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and would love to see you again. More

We stayed here during our Coast to Coast Walk and had a lovely stay. The pick-up to and from the trail as well as to and from the pub in the evening was great and worked well. Our room was really beautiful and for breakfast we chose the cheese plate instead of the cooked breakfast. The cheese plate was huge... More

Stayed here on the Coast to Coast. Although Chop Gate is a little way from the path, the owners will collect you from Clay Bank Top and then drop you back the next morning. A warm welcome, comfortable room and hearty breakfast. A lift is provided to the local pub for food in the evening. Would definately recommend.

We stayed here as part of our coast-to-coast trip. Stuart and Judy were extremely welcoming and really couldn't do enough for us. In an area where accomodation is hard to come by West Cote is a real gem (Stuart even drove us to and from the coast-to-coast path and the pub in the evening). The room was very comfortable and... Stuart and Judy were wonderful hosts. Their B&B is away from the Coast to Coast path but well worth a visit. As other reviewers have mentioned Stuart will pick you up and drop you off at your walking point as well as provide driving service to the local pub. Couldn't ask for better. Our room and ensuite were cozy and... More

Most B&Bs allocated on my 14 day Coast to Coast walk were satisfactory to good; a couple were poor - this was undoubtedly the best. A little out of the way but Stuart's taxi service was rendered with a big cheery smile - as was my free taxi to the Buck Inn (very good food - just a little too... More

Hosts Judy and Stuart made our stay at their slightly out of the way farm B & B pleasant and memorable. Their enthusiasm, warmth, cheerful natures and conversation long remembered after a five week stay in various UK accommodation. Our upstairs attic room was small, a cosy country feel, a little quirky in layout, sloped ceilings with very compact ensuite... More
