This dingy hotel is across from a hospital, so you hear sirens all night long. Our toilet didn't flush, and we weren't given toilet paper. The hotel smelled, and the room was very small.

After reading Tripadvisor advices, I expected something bad.
After beeing there I can confirm that the only positive aspects are the central location and the low prices.
The building is narrow (Hotel?) and really decadent. Most of the furniture is decrepit. Torn curtains, broken tils, hydraulic parts rusty ...
No possbility to have breakfast.
I wouldn't recommend this Hotel unless...

We spend 4 nights here and we were pleasantly surprised. Its a great location to discover London. Only a short walk to the Tube station or several bus stops. Quiet at night (!) but close to a lively shopping street with plenty of good and affordable places to eat. Our double room had its own en suite facilities. Also the...

Pubic hair in the toilet and bathroom, hair on the bed covers, dilapidated state and noisy - this hotel is NOT what it seems from the website and pictures. The location is great - given that the value for money (£69 for a double) seemed too good to be true. Well, it was. Shockingly, there was no manager on duty...

Booked this hotel without checking trip advisor! Partly due to its decent looking web page and links with other hotels (that looked ok)....bad decision as when we got there we were shocked!
Firstly there is no such thing as reception other than someone answering the door and taking you to some messy dull office. Secondly when it’s a little late...

I could hardly believe it was a hotel when I arrived - it was part of a derelict block and the ground floor bar was disused. The entrance staircase stank of damp and mould and the untidy girl who opened the door led me to a junk filled 'reception' room, little more than a filthy cupboard, to check in. The...

I read many conflicting reviews here before booking the Chelsea Lodge Hotel for my recent trip to London. One post would say, “the rooms were filthy,” while the very next insisted that “at least everything was spotlessly clean.” Here’s my take, and yes, it is a positive review, you just have to keep reading:
My group booked three rooms for...

My husband and I booked the Chelsea Lodge because it was on Arthur Frommer's recommendations and we were thoroughly dissapointed. We didn't mind that the rooms were small but we did mind that it was very filthy. There were curry stains on the wall, the comforter had multiple stains, and the bathroom had not been cleaned (there were hairs on...

I read about this property on BudgetTravel.com, and do think it's one of the better budget properties I've stayed in visiting Europe. You're simply not going to find any kind of luxury for under $200/night in London--but if you're like me, a young person just looking for a place to sleep and shower, you could do much worse than the...

After a 7 hour transatlantic flight, we were looking forward to relaxing a bit in our hotel room. However, when we arrived by taxi at the Chelsea Lodge Hotel we were immediately sure we had made a big mistake by booking there. The "reception" office was a cluttered, dirty room with junk laying all about. The young woman manager helped...
