Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I stay here occasionally. This time in a refurbished room which was pleasant in appearance, comfy bed, good lighting and decent tv. Shower over bath arrangement is disappointing, when used at the angle to shower it sprays water all over the sink and vanity unit soaking anything that’s on there as I found when all my toiletries and mobile were swimming. It also makes the floor soaking so unless you have bare feet or shoes your feet/socks get wet ! Breakfast is also a little strange no briefing then an indignant chef on the breakfast station cooking only fried eggs and when asked about poached eggs said order with the staff !! So you have to go sit back down find someone and then order. The area is very narrow so difficult to navigate between other customers. Had to ask for milk as none near the tea machine and none on tables. Quality of food ok but cold plates and ambient food made it a memorable experience for the wrong reasons. Bar offering for diamond members in the evening is good and the staff are busy yet welcoming and responsive. Some of these things aren’t difficult to address.

I have been staying at this hotel for many years when in London for business. It is usually well priced and comfortable. Recently they have started updating the rooms which has made them more modern. The thing that stands this hotel out though is the people, they are very welcoming and always on hand to help if you need it. My last couple of stays I have been checked in by Sultan and I am warmly welcomed and felt instantly relaxed after a hard day. I will continue to use this hotel whenever I am working in London.

While this is a Hilton hotel my experience did not feel Hilton like. Firstly, do not book a room on the 8th floor. The room was dated and smelled of damp as soon as I entered. It was not the room I expected by Hilton standards. The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows were dreadful and far too soft. I had to use 3 and even then I had no support. Secondly, for the light sleepers among us do NOT book a room facing the road. The road is very busy and very noisy. I am not sure if there is a hospital nearby but based on the amount of ambulance sirens throughout the night I’m guessing there may be. I got 2 hours of sleep the first night and 4 hours the second night. I had asked reception if I could be moved to a quieter room after the first night but the hotel was at full occupancy, which was fair. Additionally the walls are paper thin. I could hear all the goings on of my neighbors all throughout the night. Lastly, on a positive, the staff were always very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was the highlight of the trip. A most excellent choice of foods for all. Very impressive.

I spent some time reading the reviews on this hotel AFTER I’d booked it, and honestly it had me a little worried. Which was unnecessary. Checking in was seamless and quick, staff I’ve spoke to have been nothing but polite and helpful (including the cleaning team). I stayed in a double room and have no complaints. Whilst there is some general wear and tear this really doesn’t affect your stay. The bed is a little creaky but nothing to complain about! The room is clean and everything is there that should be. I do think some of the reviews on here are unjust. I’d stay here again without a second thought.

Before we arrived at Hilton Olympia, I wrote a mail, to ask if it was possible to get a room on the lower floors and that my daughthers could be on the same floor as us. Upon arrival I get a room on the 8th floor (top floor) and my daughthers on the third. We did not complaint, but decided to swap rooms, as i am not keen on staying on higher floors. The rooms were clean, but completely outdater, the windows were tinted so no daylight coming through. The bed was ok, but a bit on the hard side. My daugthers on the 8th floor did not sleep the first night because of loud noise frm the bathroom and from the outside. So the next morning we go down to ask of moving hotel room. They were friendly enough and said to get a new room in the afternoon plus when they heard we had swapped rooms the receptionist changed the names around, so it fitted with the room numbers, apparently. On return in the afternoon they get a new room, unfortunately it is the room that I already stay in. So down to the reception and get yet another room. They ended up getting a semi nice room on the second floor. Unfortunately our bad experiences does not stop here. On one of our last days we come vack to the hotel in the evening and our door key will not open the door. So again down to reception. The young girl is looking at the computer and then disappears, after a while she comes out and says that they cannot give us a key to open the door as it is my daugther staying in the room, which as the sharp reader remembers they fixed in the beginning of our stay. So at this point I am tired and I just want a key to get into my room, but the receptionist continue to say that I cannot have it, as it is my daugthers room. Even though I try to explain that we already have stayed in it for three nigths and that they had swapped names a couple os days earlier. In the end two other receptionists come out, they give us a key to open, the door and apologise by giving breakfast the next morning. We just had such a bad experience overall and cannot recommend this hotel, I cannot believe it was a Hilton.

I first stayed at this property in Summer 2023. I had a really terrible experience with my reservation and wrote a very negative review on Trip Advisor. I was contacted by a lovely manager at the hotel who wanted to make things right for me. I was incentivized to stay at this Hilton during my next London visit, which I did. It was a lovely stay and I really appreciated management being so proactive to make me a happy customer. Since, then I have stayed an additional time or two. The Hilton Olympia is a bit off the beaten-path, but is not a bad walk to Kensington and Knightsbridge. I quite like the location, but those who are first time tourists might find it quite a ways from a lot of the sites. The hotel is an old building and has a lot of outdated rooms; however, there are many rooms that have been renovated and are quite nice, known as premium rooms. They are not super stylish and super modern, but definitely a huge improvement over the non-renovated rooms. Housekeeping does a great job and the hotel is spotless from rooms to lobby. This hotel has a decent gym and a large dining area, with okay food - it's nothing too memorable. Staff at this hotel range from very nice to downright unfriendly. I have had lovely encounters at reception, but most recently, they were not nice and disorganized; when I showed up at 2:45pm for a 3:00pm check in, the girl chastised me for coming in early and I ended up waiting over an hour after that for a room. The gentleman who stored my luggage also wasn't nice. Other times, check in was quick and civil. This hotel is a great option for those who are more budget-conscious, as this is usually one of the cheapest full-service hotels in London. Service is very inconsistent, location is fine (but just prepare to Uber or Tube) and rooms are totally fine if you book a premium renovated room. The Hilton Olympia isn't anything amazing, but I would definitely stay here again if the price is right.

The services of the hotel are just ok: good room, very good breakfast, good restaurant, perfect location for Destination Travel Show. The only minus was that we asked for a breakfast pack because we had an early flight, but they forget about it!
