Great hotel can't praise it enough. The staff were friendly and helpfull and nothing was to much trouble. The room was very clean and bright and looked as though it had been recently decorated. The choice at breakfast was very good with a selection of hot and cold dishes served by a very friendly lady. The food was freshly cooked... More

Stayed here again after watching Everton beat Newcastle in the final game of the season. The standard of food and service in the restaurant is way above what you might expect in a small suburban hotel. Will go back again without a doubt. More

I stayed at this hotel while attending a friends wedding. The staff are lovely but the hotel itself is very dated. Breakfast was ok but there wasn't a vast choice. Great location. Shower was awful. Good points and bad but ok if you just want the basics More

Lovely Friendly hotel, just outside the city centre. Great food, great staff, clean, warm and welcoming. Short walk to Waterloo station, 5 mins, and easy to access city. Cracking view of sunset.... Wouldn't hesitate to return More

I was lucky enough to be booked into this hotel by clients for a wedding I filmed and therefore didn't pay to stay, however this doesn't influence my review. Check-in was easy despite not being booked in my name, the reception staff being very helpful and clear in what was needed. I was offered assistance with luggage - could be... More

we attended a birthday party in nearby Blundell Sands at the end of September. This was our second visit in the last twelve monhs with 11 family members all of whom have nothing but praise for the hotel itself but especially the pleasant and helpfull staff. We will certainly return on future visits. The hotel is handily placed for the... More

I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights on business and found it to be a very friendly and welcoming hotel, and not only the staff - the black cat that met me at the door every morning seemed very pleased to see me!The staff were great and nothing seemed to be a problem. As I had a... More

Stayed here for a weekend conference, very nice hotel with comfortable fittings and decor, very relaxing place to stay. Nice sized room, spotless, everything as it should be. Staff very good. The food was very nice, well-cooked, a couple of hiccups in the serving of our group, didn't get what they ordered, think the kitchen was under pressure with 2... More

Should any guest require high speed broadband in their room, please ask when making your reservation as we now have 6 rooms with... More

We came up to visit family and friends, and since they live in Crosby, the Royal is well placed. We stayed three nights and from arrival to departure, we would find it almost impossible to find fault. We were given a good twin room with a new bathroom on the second floor with an excellent view across the Marine Gardens... More

Thankyou for your review. The Royal Hotel does offer a unique hotel experience with Character which you will not find in the anonymous chain hotels. It is why guests keep coming back. I have taken onboard your last comment regarding the extra chair, most rooms do have 2 of these. With regards to the grab handle, again many rooms do... More

I recently celebrated my 50th Birthday at the Royal. We were a party of 23 and we had a lovely meal on the Saturday evening. The menu was the Large Party Menu which provided a nice choice to suit all tastes. The food was excellent, served hot with nice freshly prepared veg and potatoes, and served efficiently by obliging staff.... More
