Having originally been born in Lincoln and know the Bailgate area where the hotel is situated very well, whenever I visit my home county I always stay at D'Isney Place. This is not only because of the fabulous location, in the Bailgate but not amongst the tourists, but also because of the cosy, private, homely and sumptuous feeling you get... More

Further to reading one of the previous reviews, we booked this hotel for the very reason that there were no communal areas. We had a four poster room with a jacuzi bath and shower. The room was large and comfortable. The bed was lovely and comfy. The jacuzi was huge and good fun. I think they forgot our fresh flowers.... More

The web site looked quite good but upon arrival I was VERY disappointed with our room. Strange, mis-matched decor with thread bare chairs. It didn't really feel like a 'proper' hotel as there were no communal areas - the only place to go was your own room. Breakfast was served in the room and wasn't particularly appertizing or filling. The... More

We found the D'Isney to be in an excellent location, the room was spacious and light, and the staff was tops. And the room-service breakfast was an especially nice touch! Perhaps a story will illustrate our loyalty to Lincoln and its people. My wife and I consider Lincoln Cathedral to be, along with Durham and York, the finest in England.... More

The good points.... The hotel is lovely, clean, brilliant friendly staff. They are new owners and trying hard to please. The garden is huge and beautiful, you can sit outside with a drink and see the cathedral close by. You have to walk down steep hill to the shops. There are pub meals and hotel restaurants really close by. What... More

Stayed over 1 night with my husband, found the hotel to be very quiet. Room was spacious, with a huge bed. A bit old fashioned decoration, but couldn't fault the service. You have your breakfast brought up to your room as there is no lounge, but it was beautifully prepared, fresh and hot. 3 minutes walk to the cathederal and... More
