Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Mighty Mick Braces was outstanding in ensuring we had a great stay. Nothing was too much trouble, including waiting up very late for a couple of the group who arrived very late into the evening. All he asks for is respect and that’s all he deserves.

This hotel is ideal for big group bookings (stag dos). There were 30+ of us. If you want the ritz then it’s not for you. If you want a B&B close to all you need then look no further.

The price is bang on for what you get.

Top drawer place with a top drawer owner. Mick was spot on and couldn’t do enough to help us out. He loved all our fancy dress and done everything to make our stay better. Telling us where to go for booze and scran. Thanks Mick

Basic and dated room, albeit clean. The bathroom was literally like a cupboard, and despite there being clear instructions on how to attain hot water - we failed!!

We had to give a £30.00 refundable 'damage' deposit, which as my partner and I are late 40's / early 50's and well presented and spoken, I found a little bizarre!!

Extra charge of £5.00 if you want to park on the premises, and no breakfast offered. For £85.00 a night, plus parking I didn't feel it was great value for money.

Went on a Hen Night in this so called "stag & hen night hotel" last Saturday.
This Hotel is in no shape or form a Stag & Hen Hotel, It is just an out-dated, scruffy little B&B which is situated too far from the center of blackpool.
We were charged £40 each for a night expecting all kinds of entertainment and plenty of stags for some fun and games, what we got were six girls in one room ( yes, a whopping £240 per room !! per night!!) no TV, Grotty rooms & manky duvet covers.
Absolutely no entertainment was provided, the tiny little bar didnt even have music playing! and breakfast was awful.
i just dont know how they can advertise as a stag & hen hotel, i assume it simply means that they will except same-sex parties and charge premium rates for the privelage.
Steer clear stags!
also, if you do want a fun Hotel for stags n hens etc..try The Wellington, Blackpool, but dont expect to get any sleep!

Do not stay here, its awful, old, smelly and the chap that runs it is a seedy old man. I refused to get inside the bed covers as they were clearly filthy and the bunk beds were unsafe. The towels were ancient, the bathroom was no bigger than a cloakroom, I would honestly rather sleep on a barbers floor.

How there is no regulatory intervention regarding this being advertised as a hotel I will never know.

Stayed here on saturday 22nd august and what a very nice place indeed. Mick the owner was spot on. Greeted us at the door and couldnt do enough for us. sat in the bar with him before going out and he was the perfect host. Breakfast was just the ticket as we had a heavy night on the beer. Sorted me right out. Rooms were spotless. Safe to say i will be visiting the holme lea again in the future without a doubt

First time ever in this hotel and never again, the bedding stank of dead people, and I felt unclean coming out of this place. breakfast was a very odd time as well, from the moment we walked in, we were ordered about from mick, who kept making speeches as well, I think he must have wanted to have been a politician in younger days, felt like I was back at school, I can honestly say I've stayed in many many hotels in my years, but never came out of one feeling that unclean and smelly, from the towels to the beds, bedding, curtains it was rotton rats and smelly, I have no idea how this place hasn't been closed down, as the quit covers and furniture was older than the mick the owner!!!!
I'd rather eat my own arm than stay there again
