Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely stunning views of the valley. Quaintly located within the valley as well. Jane is a friendly & great host. The breakfast is excellent as well. It was the perfect stop for our stay in the Lake District. It is calming, peaceful, and romantic. Located close to town as well. You cannot go wrong staying here!!

Room Tip: One lane roads for the last 2 miles of the drive to get there. They have pull outs for traffic....

Wow what a stay! Ellas crag guest house was perfect in every way! The location is stunning and breath taking with lots of walks on the doorstep. Only a ten minute drive from lovely Keswick town. The guest house is stunning with amazing views from every room. We had the most delicious breakfast each morning which fuelled us for the day ahead. Jane and Ed went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect and they are lovely hosts. Extremely informative of the local area which was useful. Amazing stay, will definitely be recommending and hopefully returning!

Spent a wonderful 2 night stay at this beautiful guesthouse. We stayed in the Catbells room which overlooked Catbells and Skiddaw. Owners are friendly and very knowledgeable of the local area. The breakfast is very tasty with a generous selection. Will definitely be back to explore more of the area and sample more of their delicious breakfasts

Excellent 2 night stay with Ed and Jane - delicious breakfast, comfortable room and friendly proprietors. What more could you want. We will be back soon! Spectacular views towards Derwentwater and Cat Bells and handily placed to walk from the door into the surrounding countryside.

We have just returned home after spending 3 nights at Ellas Crag and we were not disappointed. The b&b is in a secluded position with views all around you and it's also set in beautiful grounds, you have a pub a short walk away and Braithwaite and Keswick is not far away by car. There are also plenty of walks on the doorstep.Jane and Ed are great hosts and make one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! The rooms are comfortable and warm and ours had a lovely deep bath and a shower.

Beautiful house with an even more stunning location. Jane and Ed welcomed us warmly into their guest house and throughout our stay. Jane greeted us with home-baked cake as soon as we arrived at the guest house. Rooms are clean and tidy with everything you would need. We stayed in the Catbells room which provided amazing views, especially first thing in the morning. Our breakfast was gorgeous and left us full for most of the day. Planning to go again in the summer!

Stayed at Ella’s Crag with 2 couples from USA who were visiting the Lake District for the first time. Jane and Ed made us so welcome and the accommodation was lovely and comfortable. Breakfasts were exceptional and our special requests were all met. The location is fantastic with gorgeous views, near to Keswick but very peaceful. Hope to return very soon!
