We stay at least once a year. I think 2013 will be our 6th.time . Excellent rooms, very traditional. Fridge in room. Superb comfy beds. Kate produces a magic breakfast. I loved it here. The room was spotless with a beautiful view, the decor was lovely and the breakfast delicious (made even more special by a roaring fire in the dining room). The picture on the website doesnt do it justice. This is a great place to stay.

Good location, being a short walk to Grasmere village and short drive to ambleside. Very friendly owners who couldn't do enough for us and our 1 year old. Fantastic breakfast, including the option of a cooked veggie breakfast. The room was very comfortable with a lovely view. We will definately stay here again when we venture back.

I found the How Foot Lodge an excellent place to stay. As a single traveller I was astonished to be given a suite of rooms - lounge, bedroom, shower room and bathroom - and was still charged a single rate.
