Ambleside like Windermere is quite active, so Grove Cottages was perfectly situated. Roughly 1 mile from the one way system, a single track road leads you to the property, and wow. We (6 adults and 3 children) stayed in Grove Farmhouse and had a fantastic holiday - the 2 lounges meant that one could be used by children and one by adults. Large kitchen, beautiful dining room; ensuite bathrooms... Highly recommended - wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
