Great location in the center of town, close to hiking paths and around the corner from the bus stop. and an excellant breakfast. Bridgett was a wonderful host and very helpful in providing brochures on hiling trails.

We wanted to give a Mexican family a taste of the lakes but the combination of 2 Mummies,17 year old girl and 2 x13year old boys was not easy to find accommodation for. This B and B was the best value that I could find in Ambleside and it included leisure passes to Low Wood Hotel.
No eating meals in...

We spent two nights at this B&B in June when I was taking part in the Great North Swim in Lake Windermere. My husband and myself had one room and my mum and my daughter had another room, both on the top floor. Although my mum is in her 70's she managed the stairs really well, but it may be...

I have just returned from ambleside after enjoying a short family break with my parents. The B+B location is fantastic and we enjoyed two full days walking from ambleside. The owner allowed us to have our room from midday at no extra charge. This allowed us to really maximise our stay.
Our first night we found some pub grub which...

Well placed for the town centre. Some rooms are small but all are clean. Service friendly. Breakfast good. Off street parking available. We would stay again. Ambleside itself is expensive though: especially the restaurants!

I stayed in 2 Cambridge Villas for five nights to use as a base to explore the southern Lakes. Booking two rooms for myself, wife, and two teenies was a breeze. All I needed to know was either on their well published web-site, or given to me over the 'phone during the booking.
Upon arrival, parking was available to me...

The #1 ' Red Room' we stayed in had a comfortable bed, the bathroom was adequate, albeit small, and had no problems with water pressure. The B&B is not on a main thoroughfare so there were no issues with traffic noise in what can be a very busy village.
The English breakfast was tasty and there were delicious vegetarian sausages...

Stayed two nights with my partner at 2 Cambridge Villas for a short weekend break. The owners were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. Our room (1) was clean, well decorated, had a good sized ensuite with double shower that was great with loads of hot water (important after a hard day's walking). The bed was really comfortable and there...

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this B&B and had a wonderful time. The location is great. We arrived on the train in Windermere and easily caught the bus to Ambleside which lets you off very close to the B&B. We took two beautiful and long walks right from town, so being without a car didn't matter. Ambleside...

Having read Jumana's review I feel I must respond with our own opinions of the place.
We have been visiting this B&B for approximately the last 6 years and we have never wanted to stay anywhere else. Bridged and Charlie are excellent hosts and we have never found any reason to complain. The B&B has 5 rooms and we have...
