Stayed for two nights, weekend 1st and 2nd of June. The site is located amongst the Langdale Pikes which makes it an ideal setting both for waking up to the view of the vast hills, or walking them all. Really good camping facilities here, clean toilets and showers, I've stayed here on numerous occasions and never had any issues with the showers. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, looking for for my next trip in September. Great place for walking and biking or relaxing with a pint of Old P in The Old Dungeon Ghyll.

Just spent the late May bank holiday at the Great Langdale campsite. The views and location are outstanding, particularly if your a walker, hiker, climber etc as everything can be accessed on foot. Amazing location ,great pub just round the corner and friendly staff on the site shop.But the showers were terrible I had to catch the trickle of water on two mornings so did not bother on the third such a shame because I would have definitely wanted to recommend this campsite if this was fixed

Just stayed at Gt. Langdale over the bank holiday weekend. Great location for walks with fabulous scenery (if the low clouds ever disperse). However, the camp site is very boggy and muddy (think Glastonbury) with poor drainage. It was wet and overcast whilst the rest of the country was bathed in sunshine. I camped here with a friend for one night, difficult to pitch the tent due to lots of rocks below thin soil layer. There was torrential rain overnight which curtailed the fun to some extent - some areas of the campsite had not drained well...it was worth a few minutes checking the area before we pitched, and glad I had!...
