Having stayed at this hotel previously, and booked rooms for our business guests, I was pleased to see that the standards have remained high. The food was fantastic and the wine excellent, helped by great recommendations by the sommerlier. The business managed to secure an excellent mid week rate - helped by the fact I am sure that the hotel... More

Just stayed here on business and my wife accompanied me for a change of scenery/routine! Have stayed at Bristol and Brighton branches before, so kind of knew what to expect. We weren't disappointed and the whole experience was a good one although I have knocked off a star because of a couple of digs. On the positives, the hotel is... More

We love the Hotel du Vin chain and have stayed at a few. We booked into the original Winchester branch for Easter. The food is still amazing and the wine (excellent sommelier) perfect, but the prices have started to get a little out of control. The room was nice, but for £235 you want amazing. The little things like having... More

We stayed in Winchester for a couple of nights after Christmas for a relaxing break. We love Hotel du Vin whenever we have stayed in one and this was no exception. Our room was at the front of the hotel directly above reception and it was a good size and comfortable apart from being terribly warm and there appeared to... More

Stayed here for the Easter weekend – despite a late booking we were fortunately able to have their last available room. A nice stylish hotel occupying a central position in the City meaning that everything is within easy walking distance. Winchester is a city very much worth a visit. The hotel has a large car park which saves any worry... More

We thought the room was extremely spacious and well-furnished in a comfortable and relaxing style. The huge shower and the roll-top bath in the bedroom were both fantastic, as was the breakfast. No negative remarks to record at all!

I stayed there while travelling for business from the United States. Hotel du Vin was absolutely amazing. From the beautifully appointed rooms, to the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in while travelling. Hotel du Vin has an incredible bistro with a great wine selection as well. It was one of the highlights of my trip. i would go... More

This is a really good hotel with excellent service in the restaurant and front of house reception areas. The rooms have recently been refurbished and are very comfortable and attractive. My only gripe was the noise of the kitchen air con which was below our Pol Roger room however this was turned off by 11.30 so did not disturb a... More

We've been staying at the (original ) Hotel du Vin chain for 15 years and have stayed in every property. It's been 8 years since we were last at this property so I was interested to see what had changed. Firstly the good news: the rooms were just renovated but in exactly the same reassuring, comfortable, calm style. The bed... More

Having failed to find a good tea shop in Winchester we fell back on the bar menu at Hotel du Vin. How lucky were we! A beautiful chocolate brownie each and a coffee worked a treat with charming staff in reception and the bar. Very good.
