It was the 2nd time we've stayed with Alan and Chrissie. It was even better than last year! It's near the town center, it's a beautiful B&B in its rich ambiance and Alan and Chrissie are just the best! This year we've stayed in a different room than the year before, but that didn't make any difference: both rooms are... More

This is the second time I've stayed at Clifton Terrace - the first time with my boyfriend last year and this time with a group of friends as we were having a reunion. Both times I stayed in the family room which, as other people have mentioned, is perfect as it has it's own front door and you really feel... More

Just back from a weekend at the Clifton Terrace and we had a really lovely stay. We were in the basement "family" room which was really cosy and big size. We had our own front door which made it feel like our own apartment. Great location to the high street, probably 5 mins at the most. The bathroom was private... More

We've been coming here for years now, and its still as good as ever. Chrissie and Allan are joyful & helpful hosts and each a real character. There are a lot of stairs in this place, as it's spread over about 5 floors, it's like a personal exercise programme, but that's part of the fun of it, (saves going to... More

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and thought the owners were so nice (Chrissie even gave us hugs when we left!). We were in the front room (a converted sitting room I think) that was a nice size. The bathroom is up a short set of stairs with a great shower (they provide one robe). It's... More

My husband and I arrived unannounced late on Saturday 27th March without a booking and unfortunately the B and B was full. We were very warmly welcomed, and Chrissie went to great lengths to secure accommodation for us, ringing around until she got somewhere for us. For two strangers arriving in a unfamiliar city, her kindness and friendliness was very... More

Clifton Terrace is a lovely B&B with gracious hosts and an excellent location. We stayed for three nights and the cleanliness, furnishings and hospitality were outstanding. While in Winchester I became very ill and our hostess went out of her way to quickly locate medical care and help wherever she could. Breakfasts were excellent and the house itself is a... More

We only stayed for one night but thought this place was great. Its a convenient location for walking into the city, clean accomodation and we even had our own front door to our basement room. More

I've just returned from a stay at 5 Clifton Terrace and fully intended to submit a very positive review, but it cannot be written without some reference to "misleading" below. "Misleading" about what, I must wonder? I had some misgivings myself about the location, as it appears on a map somewhat removed from the town center, and it is, indeed,... More

Room was pretty and clean, but basic - T.V. was an old portable with only 4 channels. The "private bathroom" was along a corridor and up a flight of stairs, then more corridor! Once in the small bathroom, the "cavernous slate shower" was old and water stained, a DIY job. The sink was too small to allow the kettle to... More
