Jeake's Hotel turned out to be everything we hoped for. It is a very ancient building, lovingly looked after and wonderfully comfortable. A lovely old house centrally located with plenty of excellent restaurants nearby. The rooms were tastefully furnished and lounge/bar area had plenty of board games ,daily papers and a well stocked honesty bar. This is the epitome of English 18th century style, with the advantages of fabulous ambiance but narrow winding staircase all the way up to your room. Not comfortable with 20 kilo suitcases! Our first impressions of Jeake's House were very positive and this continued over the 3 nights that we stayed there. A glorious, quirky bed and breakfast in cobbled Mermaid Street (don't even think about wearing high heels!) The owners are so lovely, the rooms are gorgeous, pretty old English feel, sloping ceilings, TV's and tea/coffee making facilities. En-suites in most rooms. The breakfast is superb!
