Kipps Hostel is extremely good value, the rooms were clean & comfortable, as were all the bathrooms. The lounge area cosy & inviting. The breakfasts were superb costing only £2! Or £1 if you only wanted a light breakfast of cereal & toast. The staff were very friendly & provided us with clean towels. I stayed there with 11 friends...

We booked 2 x double rooms next door to each other for our friend's 30th birthday (rooms 3 + 4). The reviews on TripAdvisor had been brilliant and - we were happy to find - accurate. This place feels like a cross between a hostel (friendly, inclusive, easy, affordable) and a B+B (privacy, catered breakfast, excellent service).
It's very central...

Excellent location, nice staff, very clean place, good value. Enjoyed the "theme" evenings, Valentine day, "cup cakes" evening and "pancake" evening...Sadly, common space is a bit limited.
As a hostel, it remains average, can't tell about private rooms, dorms are all ensuite, and of decent size with plenty of storage, but the bunk beds are of the "flimsy" type, swaying...

Kipps is right in the centre of Brighton so is great if you are on foot and want to explore. The staff are really nice and friendly and helpful. There is a little bar and a communal lounge area so the place feels very social and welcoming. The rooms are fairly basic but then it's a hostel! Tidy and clean...

One of the best hostels I have stayed at, if not the best, while I have been in the UK. The staff were always there to help and it was nice to have someone show me around when I first arrived, not many places would bother to do that.
They also had themed nights every night like cake night, soup...

This hostel sets itself apart from the large, impersonal institutionalised hostels with its friendly and helpful staff (armed with local knowledge and readily recommend destinations for day trips) and complimentary evening snack.
Not quite near the train station, but being along the main road opposite Brighton Pavillion makes it easy to locate. Bus stop is nearby.
Superb lounge with books...

Me and my partner's requirements were for a budget room in central Brighton which gave us a fighting chance of actually getting some sleep. I enquired with Kipps about the noise levels at night and was told guests are asked to keep noise to a minimum after 11pm. This was reassuring. I'd expect a hostel to be a bit lively...
