This was my second stay at this hotel, booked through Late Rooms and was very reasonably priced. The reception staff all lovely and very friendly and helpful, the breakfast experience was a little chaotic as they were apparently short staffed and the food was fairly basic but good. My room was a delight and very quirky, number 224, I recommend... More

We stayed here as we were in Brighton for our son's wedding. The rooms were large and clean. The staff were very pleasant, especially the dining and breakfast room staff, so very helpful. I went into the large dining room just before we left to 'Thank them for their kindness to us especially one very old 'Grandpa', who was very... More

would not stay here again if this was the last hotel in england!!! the rooms are shabby and dirty. there was no heating, so cold we slept in clothes and left really early the next morning, cutting short our break. the pillows were so flat we would have been better off sleeping on the towels and there were no extra... We used the Coutlands hotel a few weeks ago and it is quite a run down hotel, it is in much need of a 'lick of paint' Considering the price you would expect at least the walls to be painted properly and not cracking off.... The food is something else, when we ate here it was like they couldnt be... More

We stayed here for 2 nites in March 2012 , we arrived to find the car park almost empty and parked very easily once we collected a permit from reception. Staff are charming and efficient. Our room was huge , facing the car park was not a problem as you don't look out of the window every 2 minutes. The... More

Peeling wallpaper, damp patches on walls and ceilings, broken radiators, threadbare carpets, and mis-matched furniture, that looked like it came from the charity shop. Need i go on. This was listed as a 3*** hotel, i wouldn't even give it 1*. 1 night in a "family room" (4 single beds all shoved together) cost £125. An absolute rip off. Take my... More

The hotel location was great, and the staff were really friendly and helpful but the rooms themselves and the hotel, were tired and in need of a good update. We moved in the room and the toilet didn't work, so we had to use a toilet miles down the corridor. The other party in our booking had a toilet problem... More
