I read some of the reviews on here after I booked this hotel for work and panicked a bit. But I was pleasantly surprised. It was nowhere as near as bad as the reviews made out. I had a small room up the stairs and round the back (no good if you have mobility problems!) so there was no problem... More

Stayed here for one night in March 2012. The room overlooked a busy road and a bus stop, meaning the noise was deafening all night. We would have shut the window but it was broken and had been cobbled back together meaning you could neither close it or open it. The security light under the roof eaves shining into our... More

Stayed for 1 night due to an office night out in Brighton. For the price I paid, I have little complaint. However the room's windows did little to keep the sound of the busy road out, and did look tired and dated. Bed comfey, sheets clean. £2.00 bus ride to the centre from a stop right outside. I couldn't see... More

I didn't realise hotels like this still existed. Rude ignorant staff. Ironically they have an Investors in People plaque on the wall by reception. Boy do they need to invest some more in their staff! Room smelt, curtains hanging off the rail, bed mattress didn't fit the base and smelt musty. Really tatty decor in room. Breakfast was awful having... More

Creaky, dirty, not too dear for Brighton but far too dear for its standard. No lifts, no wifi, 5 channels, stingy supplies in the bathroom, mouldy/damp walls in common areas. Its sole advantage for me was being very close to Brighton & Hove Albion's ground, but the Albion have moved and the Preston Park hasn't. There's a reason this hotel... More

Stayed for two nights rooms very clean and comfortable only difficulty was in getting to the room. Up and down many awkward stairs. Breakfast was just on the plus side of poor and dinner was disgusting. I would only go back if I was stuck but not to eat in. More

How this place has the cheek to call itself a hotel I don't know. My room was cold, with a broken window. I couldn't hear the tv as the volume control wasn't working and was forced to have a bath as the shower was only trickling water...I suppose I should be grateful for the bath! I paid in advance for... More

Really bad service, don't stay there unless you really have to. There are other hotels nearby. I usually stay in cheap hotels so I am not picky, but... The property is old, which is ok, but it feels old inside as well. They haven't renovated for years. I arrived late at night, about 11pm, checked-in, went to my room and... More

Terrible hotel. Room tired and in need of redecoration. Paid EXTRA on booking in for breakfast. Disputed in the morning by waitress. Finally agreed we had paid, but after seeing the continental breakfast and croissants that were hard and stale we decided it was not a risk worth taking . Receptionist on duty was rude and although mistake was theirs... More
