I booked Artists Residence as a surprise birthday present for my boyfriend and it was perfect - cosy, fun and intimate. I'm so glad I didn't book us into an austere B&B or hotel. We stayed in The Nest, which I was worried might be very poky but it was perfect - it was small but the design made it... More

Thank you to the team at Artists Residence for a lovely weekend... I would properly whole heartedly recommend you stay. Actually, I wouldn't, as it might mean I can't get my lovely sea view room next time if it gets too popular....?! Clean, spacious and warm (on a freezing weekend) with imaginative artwork displayed throughout which created an atmosphere, rather... More

What a gem of a B&B. If you want somewhere that's not your usual plain B&B or a standard bed factory this place must be top of you list. We arrived early and were met by a charming young lady who gladly stored our bags whilst we went out into town until our room was ready. The room was fab.... More

so, I booked a hotel, unseen, unheard of, for me at least, and turned up hoping for the best and on this occasion it really did fulfill what we hoped for. A really friendly, open welcome that felt genuine. And once the trek up the multiple stairs was negotiated a warm, bright and colourful room really lifted the spirits and... More

Charlie and her team were really friendly and hospitable. Their cook Trish makes some wonderful breakfasts (as well as an amazing carrot cake)! The room was great to wake up to with the room painted in a piece of art, and the view? Well, if you can see the sea, it's a good view! Overall a very positive experience. More

We only stayed for one night, but we did not want to leave this adorable B&B. The room was exceptional in every way. We had a view of the sea, gorgeous art, lovely furnishings and everything you could think of to make you feel at home. It is located right in the heart of Brighton so close to the sea... More

I travelled to Brighton with my boyfriend back in December and he booked this hotel as a surprise for us both for the weekend. When I arrived I thought it was absolutely fabulous. We had the Pinky vision room, was very clean, the bed was so comfortable, the stairs may be a hinder to some, but then you wouldnt get... More

Thanks for the great comments. We have been changing our breakfast policy and apologise that it may not have been totally clear. Instead of our breakfast in a bag we now do a fabulous cooked breakfast downstairs in our cafe which is not included in the room price. Since not all guests want breakfast, this has allowed us to maintain... More

Originally paid for a standard double room but on arrival we was told we had been upgraded to a superior room with see view...at no extra cost. The staff were helpful and polite, even carried our cases upstairs. The room was very different to anything I've ever stayed in. The art was bright and loud. I tend to prefer neutral... More

Thank you for your kind review. We always strive to make our guests improve our guests experience of Artist Residence! Although we are usually busy, we do upgrade our guests when the opportunity presents itself. Our breakfasts are now freshly prepared downstairs in our cafe by our fantastic new cook Trish! Glad you enjoyed it all and look forward to... More

The room was clean and well presented and our stay was very enjoyable. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We stayed in the Woodland Room and it was up several flights of steep stairs which were quite demanding. The shower room was extremely small and the double doors didn't shut very well which meant that there was very little privacy. But... More

Thank you for the compliments. What's important for us is how we could have made your stay 5 stars! We are currently undergoing a small renovation program to bring all our bathrooms up to our usual excellent quality! We have taken on your issues with the double doors and are checking that they all shut properly as we understand the... More
