The main part of this hotel is full of character, we stayed in Louisa Lodge the more modern part, our room was lovely and spacious, lovely comfortable king size bed, nice little extra touches such as the tea and coffee making facilities with yummy biscuits and free wi-fi was an added bonus. All staff helpful and friendly and lovely breakfast... More

Had a room in Louisa Lodge, which was absolutely fantastic. Large room, which was very light and airy. Friendly welcome on check in, and the main part of the hotel is very nice indeed (although only spent time there checking in). Hotel is just a couple of minutes walk into Swanage. Without doubt the nicest hotel I have stayed at... More

This is my second review for this hotel! It has much improved since our last visit and it'll be our first port of call when we need a place to stay in Swanage again! The welcome we received from the lady at reception was lovely! Our room was small but clean and nicely decorated. The bar man was a very... More

Had a 1 night stay as part of a tour of the coast. Great location, close to the town. We stayed in Louisa Lodge in the biggest room we've ever stayed in outside of the US. Room was lovely & clean, bathroom a good size. Lots of choice at breakfast, very friendly staff to look after you. More

This hotel has many historical features. Both the interior of the hotel and the garden are packed with interesting items going back to the mid 19th century, Our room was very large and we could see that some of the cupboards reflected the fact that the house was once a nunnery. Modern it is not , but the hotel has... More

Saggy, lumpy matress, faded wonky pictures on wall, no net curtains, dribbling taps, no reading lamp, bathroom shelf falling off wall and useless hairdryer. Not any value for money at all. Looks so impressive when you turn up but it is in serious need of an upgrade! More

A satisfactory hotel about 100m from the waterfront. Reasonable breakfast and service. No noise (other than the dawn chorus), though I suspect no-one was staying next to my room. My main criticism is that the main hotel building had distinctly dated decor. Entering my room in particular was somewhat like going back 30 years in a time machine - every... More

booked 2 nights at the hotel through a photography workshop that i was attending over a weekend. As i had booked a single room i expected a "compact" space and was not disappointed. The lady who ran reception was fantastic and very cheery, the remainder not so. my room was adjacent to the bar but friday night the hotel seemed... More

I have just got back from staying at the Purbeck House Hotel for a Photography Weekend. The Hotel itself is full of character - amazing ceilings and chandeliers etc.It is set in well maintained grounds high on the hill on the High Street. The lady on reception was very friendly and welcoming and provided me with extra teabags for my... More
